Show THE Thursday, January 25, 1951 HARDY-HEWAR- D SOCIETY and CLUB NOTES WOMENS CLUB STAGES SUCCESSFUL PARTY Very successful was the public card party held Thursday evening at the Price civic auditorium and sponsored by the Price Womens club. The members are thrilled with the result of their venture and wish to express their appreciation for the cooperation received from everyone. A dessert luncheon, draw prizes and cards were highlights of the affair. As the guests arrived Mrs. Roy Millett and Mrs. Ida Thomas entertained with back ground music. The energetic committee members who were in charge of the arrangements included Mrs. J. C. Hubbard, general chairman; tickets, Mrs. Mina Brooks, chairman, Mrs. Don Miles, Mrs. Lynn A. Aiken and Mrs. Hubbard; refreshments, Mrs. S. G. Chandler, chairman, Mrs. J. M. Lennberg, Mrs. Guy Prichard, Mrs. Alma Anderson and Mrs. Royal Frandsen. For you who will be doing some Saturday shopping an invitation is extended to drop in at the A 4 H Market or Maceys and take home with you some of the appetizing baked foods that will be on sale. There will be an assortment of cakes, pies, cookies, rolls, bread and other home made delicacies. EAST CARBON BPW INITIATES NEW MEMBERS Nine new members were into East Carbon Business and Professional Womens club at a special ritual last Monday evening, January 8. The ceremony dealt with the various symbols of the clubs official emblem. Mrs. Mildred G. Christensen first told of the significance of the symbols; then members representing each symbol were presented by Miss Myrtle Davis, as the Herald. Those who took part in the emblem ceremony were: Mrs. Mary S. Crawford, Mrs. Edna Boatwright, Mrs. Emma Higginson, Mrs. Agnes Scow, and Mrs. Edna Graham. Membership Chairman Beryl Ruskauff then presented the new members: Mrs. Marjorie Monroe, Mrs. Ellen Peacock, Mrs. Alice Pehrson, Mrs. Corilla Stewart, Mrs. Evelyn Varner, Mrs. Mary Worthington, Miss Ellen Young, Mrs. Helen Zulacka and Mrs. Alice Kloster. C. Hardy of Price, who exchanged d, wedding vows with Raymond son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Heward of Evanston, Wyoming on Sunday, January 23. The ceremony was solemnized by Bishop James O. Christensen at Las Vegas, Nevada. Attractive Mrs. Heward wore a smart tan suit with brown and red accessories for the nuptial rites. The bride is a former popular student of Carbon. Following her high school graduation here she entered St. Benedicts school of nursing in Ogdon where she made an outstanding record, served as president of the student body and was an honor graduate.
