This information was received by us with pardonable pride from Providence, Rhode Island, where the national organization held its annual convention, the award being made known on June 16. No contest was held in 1948. We have accumulated ten other first place awards in minor divisions in state contests in the past three years. These honors obviously reflect work and planning a forward-lookin- g policy in management, and efficient and imaginative ability in the news and mechanical departments. But even with these, credit belongs in a large part of the loyal support of the merchants and people of Price and Carbon county.
