Show Thursday, March THE Page Eight SOCIETY and CLUB NOTES MARRIAGE OF FORMER PRICE RESIDENT TOLD Announcement is made of the recent marriage of Miss Arvilla Brown, formerly of Price, now living in Salt Lake City, to Hugh H. The former ' ? i I Miss Brown is $l '2L4the daughter of Mrs. Wells David H. Brown of Murray and Mrs. Minnie Brown of Salt Lake City, and resided in Price for many years where she was active in several LDS church capacities. She represented the Price First ward in the mission field, laboring m the northern California mission, from which she was released recently. Mr. Wells is also a returned missionary from the northern California mission. After the family dinner at the home of the brides mother, Mr. and Mrs. Wells left for a short trip through Idaho, Oregon and Washington. They will make their home at 828 McClelland, Salt Lake City. Mrs. Wells has been honored at several lovely social events in Salt Lake City. BUNCO CLUB ENTERTAINED BY MRS. AFTON SWASEY Mrs. Afton Swasey was hostess at the Bunco club last Wednesday. SUNNYSIDE CANASTA CLUB ENTERTAINED BY MRS. FOX The Sunnyside Canasta club met at the home of Mrs. R. A. Fox. Mrs. Budge Wilcox substituted for Mrs. Vern Jones. Mrs. Jack Durrant who has been ill, came for the first time in many weeks and took first prize money. The door prize was won by Mrs. Fox served a the hostess. very tasty desert for CULTURA CLUB ELECTS OFFICERS Cultura club held a special meeting Thursday, March 2, for the purpose of electing club officers. Selected to head the club for the next 12 months are: Mae Bowen, president; Virginia Holman, vice president; Dora Smith, secretary; Peail Mahan, treasurer; Beth Allred, parliamentarian, and Margaret Galbreath, historian. Retiring officers are: President Rose Colombo; vice president, Mae Bowen; secretary, Marge Daniels; treasurer, Emma Veltn; parliamentarian, Myrtle Davis, and historian, Lea Lindsay. The months regular meeting will be held Thursday, March 9, at the Good Shepherd hall with Robert Hall as guest speaker. Mr. Hall will speak on landscaping and gardening. HIAWATHA STUDY CLUB MEETS Home talent was featured on the program of the Fine Arts Study club of Hiawatha at its meeting held last week. Numbers on the Home Talent Night program included vocal selections by Carol Smodey and Cora Lujan, piano solos by Archie McCame; a clever Spanish hat dance by Cora Lujan and vocal numbers by Joan Ihler. After the program, the members played games and participated in Ladies Fair with Vera Finley capturing the prize. Washingtons birthday, a colorful theme used m the table decorations, was effectively carried out with a cherry tree center-piec- e and red, white and blue candles. NURSES ASSOCIATION SLATES MEETING The Utah State Nurses association, district 4, will hold its regular meeting and dinner on Monday, March 20, at 7.30 pm at Katies place in Carbonville. Mrs. Cynthia Curtis, president of the Utah State Nurses association, and Mrs E. G. Richards, executive secretary for the state association, will be the guest speakers.
