A wedding scene and dance numbers will be additional features of the show, according to Mrs. Omar Bunnell, general chairman. Local stores have cooperated with the club in providing clothes for the models. The proceeds from the revue will be used by the club to further charitable projects. This year the money will be given to the Price city hospital. SEWING CLUB PARTY Mnemonic club members were entertained when delightfully Mrs. B. W. McAllister was hostess to the group at her home lust Friday afternoon. In addition to sewing and visiting, the guests the enjoyed a short program, story of "Mulek in Zarahemla" presented by Mrs. Frank Cones and Mrs. McAllister. The story was written by J. N. Washburn and taken from The Improvement Era. New officers were named by the members during the afternoon and they include Mrs. Angus Mrs. Don Johnson, president, Miles, vice president, and Mrs. Hattie Bent, secretary and treos-- j urer. PATRICK SETS DINNER DANCE THEME Twas the luck of the Irish held dinner sway at the Dansante dance at the Country club Saturday night. To the lilt of Irish music and the brogue of Irish stories and the tables decked in a bit o green it was an evening as full of fun and mischief as anyone could wish. Sure and it was certain to be real fun with Phil Horsley spreading the blarney as master of ceremonies. It was a good program too with Ferrell Gudmtindson leading everyone in the singing of Irish songs. The story of an Irish courtship was told by Mrs. J. C. Hubbard; a vocal trio composed of Misses Dorothy Miles and Mary Redd and Mrs. Lorna Rae Keller sang a medley of Irish melodies; an Irish dance number was given by Miss LuJean Anderson accompanied by her sister, Miss LuRue Anderson, and Mrs. Fred Jones sang two Irish songs. With the wearin of the green of the Emerald Isle the colorful table decorations responded to the St. Patrick theme with center-piecof the flags of Ireland and Shamrocks attached to white pipe stems and set in Irish potatoes. Green streamers ran through the center of the tables, candle light glowed from green candles ard small shamrocks and canes adoi ti ed the place cards of all the ODansante guests. This is the regular meeting for this month and a program of unusual importance and interest to all will be presented by Mrs. F. R. King. Mrs King will discuss the services of the public health to the community. Music for the program will be furnished by Mrs. Beausheur's students. Mrs. Vincent Sumner, president, will preside at the 1 al P-T- A eluded a resume of the years work given by the state regent, the state officers and the regents of three Utah chapters. In these reports the Escalante chapter of Carbon county was well represented by its regent, Miss Elizabeth Kennedy, Mrs. R. G. of Helper, state corresponding secretary, and Mrs. W. N. Wetzel, director. At the luncheon at 1:00 o'clock, Brigadier General Franklin D. Riter, the guest speaker spoke on compulsory military training. The guests were seated around a table which was profusely decorated with spring flowers. The afternoon meeting convened at 2:30. With Mrs. W. J. of Wattis, past state regent, presiding as the installing officer, the highlight of this session was the nomination, election and installation of the new state officers for the coming year. DAR MEMBERS ATTEND SPRING CONFERENCE The annual spring conference of the Utah State Daughters of the American Revolution was held in Salt Lake City on Wednesday, March 17, at the Art Barn. Mrs. R. W. Mrs. Martha Williams, president, presided at the business session. were served and Refreshments the St. Patrick theme in green and white was carried out in the decorations and menu. The members present included: Eleanor Rehor, Martha Williams, Lillian Cave, Leva Hall, Mary Knobbs, Dora Harris, Agnes Porter, Elizabeth Hines, Mary Staines, Nora Sealey, Carrie Ashton, Myrtle Bryner, Linda Uhle, Louise McMaud Donald, May Bliss and Adams. Card prizes were won by Mrs. Porter, Mrs. Harris, Mrs. Hall and Mrs. Cave and the mystery box prize, arranged by Mrs. Hines, was won by Mrs. Hall. The next meeting of the club will be held Monday, April 13, at Helper. LODGE MEETING The Utahna Rebekah lodge No. 39 held its regular meeting Friday night at the K. P. hall in Helper. Under the direction of Mrs. Leva Hall, degree staff captain, and Mrs. Lillian Cave, musician, two new candidates, Mrs. Ollie Davis and Miss Kathryn Robinson, wore initiated into the lodge. A business session followed the initiation and the meeting was concluded with refreshments. ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED OF ANNA MARIE GOW Mr. and Mrs. James Arthur Gow of Castle Gate announce the engagement of a daughter. Miss Anna Marie, to Herman D. Brown, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Brown of Oakland, Cali fornia. Miss Gow is a graduate of Carbon high school and a charter member of Pi Gamma Chi sorority of Carbon college. She received her B. A. degree from the college of St. Mary of the Wasatch at Salt Lake City, After teaching at the Price junior high school, she took work in social science at the American college in Washington, D. C. and is engaged in social work at the Letterman general hospital in San Francisco.
