PHONE Holy rosary was recited Monday evening at 8 oclock in the chapel of the 11111011611 funeral home and requiem mass was said at the St. Anthony Catholic church, Helper, Tuesday at 10:30 a. m. for Vincent Speroni, 49, prominent Helper resident and sports enthusiast who died suddenly at his home Friday at 2:15 p. m. of a heart attack. The services were under the direction of Father Francis R. Lamoths and burial was in the Mountain View cemetery, Helper. Mr. Speroni first complained of not feeling well at his business establishment and died about a half an hour later. He was born at Turbigo, Milan, Italy, on August 23, 1897, a son of John and Maria Tapolla Speroni. He came to the United State's in 1920 and to Helper soon afterward. He married Mrs. Josephine Capelletti in 1924. Mr. Speroni worked in the coal mines of Carbon county from the time he came to this country until the past year, when he became a partner in a Helier business. He had worked several years at the old Heiner mine and for 10 years at Latuda. He was a member of the Stella dAmerica lodge No. 77 and the past six years had been secretary, He was reelected to the secretarial post for another term on the night preceding his death. He was well known among all sportsmen in Carbon county for his interest in sporting events. Surviving are his widow and two daughters, Caroline and Norma Speroni; two sisters, Mrs. Ter-esLazaro, San Francisco; Mrs. A n g e i n e Geraldoni, Turbigo, Italy; two brothers, Ernest Speroni, Concordia, California, and Antonio Speroni, Turbigo.
