Show TIIE Page Eight Five Couples Get Marriage Licenses Tops Previous Years During Past Week Enrollment During Annual Swim Week JUDGE GEORGE CHRISTENSEN DIES YESTERDAY IN SALT LAKE HOSPITAL Judge George Christensen, 80, who presided over the Seventh judicial court for 22 years and was s u c c e e ded in that position by the present judge, Fred W. Keller, died in a Salt Lake hospital yesterday at 1:00 p. m. of causes incident to age. Judge Christensen's 22 year tenure in the Seventh dicial judgeship is believed to be the longest any one man has ever been in that position. Judge Christensen served on the bench in the Seventh judicial district from 1916 to 1940, with the exception of two years. He retired in 1940. He was born in Aarhus, Denmark, February 24, 1866, a son of Emanuel and Mina Rasmussen Christensen. He received his bachelor of science and law degree from Central university in Indiana. He was admitted to the Utah bar in 1904 and to the district and circuit courts of the United States in the same year. Judge Christensen served a mission for the L. D. S. church in Denmark from 1895 to 1898, and was president of the Copenhagen conference.
