May 28, in the newly decorated dining room of the L D S tabernacle, and was attended by 400 mothers and daughters from the wards of the stake. About fifty of the women waited for a second table, as the dining room would seat only 350. Male members of the organization made all banquet arrangements, with the High Priests of the stake doing the serving, the hall arrangements were made by the Seventies, and the Elders acted as waiters. Guest speaker for the evening was Mrs. Verna Goddard, Salt Lake City, first couneelor of the MIA general board. Her topic was My Daughter and I. Other numbers on the program were presented by the wards of the stake, under the direction of the Carbon board with Mrs. Wallace Grange, chairman, Mrs. Stanley Nelson, and Mrs. Cecil Waterman. The committee in charge of the banquet arrangements was Jack Hussey, chairman; Clifford Warren, assistant chairman; Dr. H. B. Goetzman, adveitising, and Alvin Wallace, tickets.
