His appearance will conclude this seasons performances of the visiting artists who have entertained Carbon county under the auspices of the college faculty women. Tarbell is one of the greatest sonalities in magic today. His ledge of mystery, his insight into hu- man nature, and his sense of humor are almost uncanny. He likes to envelop his audience in deep philosophy one moment, and make them roar with laughter the next. He will put truth and illusion side by side and let the audience try to find the dividing line. One of his astonishing feats is the Hindu rope mystery which he created to take the place of the story of the boy climbing a rope and disappearing in the air. Another is his eyeless vision in which, with eyes sealed,, he sees and describes things that others 3RD TERM TO MONDAY, MARCH . Following the election an open dis- cussion brought out consideration of steps necessary to be taken to bring Carbon county benefits which this area may be justly entitled to. Numerous ideas were advanced and united expression indicated assured Service Warehouse Being Constructed Here Grazing determination to organize and to carry on in the direction of acquiring those benefits. It is probable that definite steps will be taken at subsequent meetings pointing towards specific action along the lines brought out in the Friday evening discussion. Somewhat limited attendance at the meeting tended to serve as u spark developing increased activity in the future. The first of the series of meetings to be held regularly has been set for the evening of Friday, April 3, and will be held at Helper, probably in the civic auditorium. A campaign for increased membership is planned, it was announced following the meeting. The grazing service is now constructing a warehouse just north of the city cemetery which will be used to house all supplies and equipment used in the range improvement programs. Materials from all the abandoned Civilian Conservation Corps camps in this area will be stored there, according to A. W. Magleby, San Rafael district grazier. The warehouse and grounds will cover an area of two acres and the entire setup will be fenced. The warehouse itself is being constructed out of lumber used in CCC camps, and the boys located at the Willow Springs camp are doing the work. It is anticipated, Mr. Magleby said, that this warehouse will be increased in size later and might eventually become the central storage place for 1942 POLIO FUND DRIVE TOPS LAST YEARS BY $178 Carbon countys contribution to the infantile paralysis fund drive conducted during the month of January topped last years drive by S178 63, according to a report com- j account. Sixteen teams entered the championship playoffs held in the University of Utah field house house over Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday of last week and of these eight teams weie in the final round and received places in state standings. Coach Jackson Jewkes Carbon hoopsters ended up in the tournament with eighth Jackson Jewkes place after having dropped the consolation final to Murray Saturday evening, 37 to 21. This years team, however, failed to duplicate the mark set in 1923 by its predecessor. The squad of that year defeated American Fork, 27 to 26, for final consolation honors and came out of the tournament with fifth place. Carbon has sent many teams to the state finals since that time but they have never been able to stay in the running, dropping out during the first two nights of play. The tournament which ended Saturday night furnished plenty of action for the fans and in general, all teams were evenly matched. Carbons worst defeat came at the hands of Ogden the first night when the score was 51 to 30. The Ogden boys snatched an early lead and kept adding to it until the end of the contest Carbon's 1941 squad bowed out of the championship picture the first night, too.
