Peerless defeated Sunnyside 5 to 3 Monday to take the county softball championship. Castle Gate, defeated 10 to 6 by Sunnyside on Sunday, took third place. Rain threatened to end Mondays program at any time, but it held off until most of the afternoons events were completed.
