Show PAGE THIRTEEN- - INSPECTORS ALLEGE LIQUOR VIOLATIONS Two complaints, charging the defendants with violation of the state liquor control laws, weie filed last week before Justice of the Peace J. W, Hammond in the office of County Attorney Edward Sheya. The first complaint, filed last Thursday by Perry Holt, liquor commission inspector, charged George Bikakis and Steve Cafe, doing business under the name of 56 Bar, with violating section 115A, chapter 60, laws of Utah, 1937, Second complaint was tiled by Inspector A. H. Jaynes on Friday, charging Nick Chugaris and Mike Venetakis, doing business as the City Coffee House and Carbon restaurant at 84 South Carbon avenue with violating section 115 of article 6, chapter 43 of the laws of Utah by allegedly having possession of wine, not purchased from a state liquor store or package agency and containing more lf of one per cent alcohol than one-ha- by weight. HIAWATHA NEWS By Mrs. G. F. Hall Mrs. Lillie James of Los Angeles, California, is the guest of her brother, Melville Sherfick, for a few weeks. Representing the New Century club, Mrs. Paul Holbrook was in Salt Lake City the past week attending the State Federation of Womens clubs meeting. Mr. and Mrs. W. N. Wetzel left Thursday night for the east. While there Mr. Wetzel will attend the National Mining congress in Cincinnati, Ohio, and from there the couple will go to Chicago and New York for a short stay. Mrs. Thomas Dodson was taken to the Price hospital Monday evening to undergo an appendix operation. Mrs. Earl Bouck of Denver was in Hiawatha last week disposing of her furniture preparatory to moving to the Colorado city where Mr. Bouck has obtained a very fine position, Mr. Bouck is the son of Mr, and Mrs, W. O. Bouck of Hiawatha. For the past two eeks the men of this company have been taking instructions in first aid and mine rescue work under the direction of the Unit-qe- d States bureau of mines. Miss Alice Christensen, student nurse at the L. D. S. hospital in Salt Lake City, spent Saturday and Sunday here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Christensen. WATTIS NEWS W. J. Hill abr ant left Friday for Cincinnati, Ohio, where he will attend the Coal Mining congress. He will be joined in Ogden and in Rock Springs, Wyoming, by other Lion Coal company officials who will also attend the Congress. Miss Maude Martin, county Home Management agent, of Price, met with her class last Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs. R. W. Eldred. This Monday the class will meet with Mrs. DeLyle Batchelor. Mr. and Mrs. Wiley W. Wheeler drove to Salt Lake City Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Dalton of Rains. They visited Mrs. Wheelers sister, Miss Anna Boborvitch and also called at the Veterans hospital to see Scott Johnson of Rains who is very ill. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Bartlett and sons, Reed and Allan, Mr. and Mrs. Shirley Bartlett and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Bartlett drove over to Vernal to attend a birthday last week-en- d celebration in honor of their father, Ashley Bartlett, who is well known in Carbon county. Mrs. W. J. Hillabrant is spending a few days in Ogden as guest of her friend, Mrs. J. S. Allen.
