If conditions remain as good as they are now, the beet crops should mature without being damaged by water shortage, although in those fields where thinning has only just been completed there probably will be losses, according to Mr. Bennett. Beans are looking better, and yields are expected to be greater than had been anticipated at first. Some of the crop was damaged by the June frost, and the drouth has done some injury, and yield will probably be somewhat less than the 1100 pounds per acre average of last season.
