Horseshoes, a softball game and a steak fry furnished entertainment for the occasion. The celebration will be held at Helper. The opening event, the street parade, promises to be one of the out- standing features of the days festive entertainment. It is scheduled to get underway at 9:30 oclock, starting at the welcome arch at the east end of Helper. John lloiden of Price is chairman of the committee in charge of this portion of the celebration. It was announced Wednesday evening that approximately thirty floats will be in the parade, promising a strikingly colorful procession. The new Janet street underpass is to be officially opened in conjunction with the celebration, Governor Henry II. Blood to be the chief speaker on that portion of the program. During the balance of the day there will be sports events of various types, outdoor entertainment for young and old. Mrs. E. L. Hill of Spring Canyon is chairman of the committee on sports for the ladies. First aid demonstrations, coal shoveling, softball, baseball, tennis, horseshoe pitching and races will round out the day and the closing event will be a dance in the Rainbow Gardens, two orchestras to supply the music. Congressman Abe Murdock, recently returned from Washington and having one of the most outstanding labor records of any man who has ever served Utah in the national legislature, will be the speaker of the day. Funeral sendees were held Monday afternoon in the L. D. S. tabernacle here. The accident occurred Friday night at the Price City ball park while a softball game was in progress. A number .pf boys were climbing up a scaffolding which was leaning against the east side of the grandstand, when the scaffolding fell over, a sharp edge striking Raymond in the forehead.
