Out of these, Payson won high honors with their chorus, with Price running second, and Springville not rating; Payson also won t in the trio competition, with Springville being their only contestant; and Springville walked off with the quartet prize, being the only participant in that contest. Judges for this event were Mrs. John Hillabrant of Wattis, Mrs. Louis Shebol of Columbia and Mrs. Zenith Johnson, Provo. Mill Less Than 1936; "If semi-month- ly Price district look very good at the present time, prospects for harvesting an excellent production in this area holding currently bright promise if ranchers will continue to exercise care in handling their fields, according to Ray Branch, field representative of the Holly Sugar Co. of Grand Junction, Colorado, the firm which contracts this section. If production comes through on a basis of present indications there will be a splendid increase in beet shipments from here. The acreage here per has been increased thirty-thre- e cent over the 1936 mark. The next two months will tell the tale on the local crop, Mr. Branch points out. There has been no recurrence of the worm attack which was experienced earlier in the season. Some very good crops marked the production in fii-s- - - S j poor quality. However, Mr. Branch reports that there are far less poor yields in prospect this season than was the 1936 experience. Orangevilles section is coming through with a splendid acreage this year, none having been raised in that district in 1936. Sixty-foacres were planted there this year, the late planting there appearing to have given an advantage that might not have been enjoyed with earlier seeding, a situation peculiar to the 1937 season. All of the beets from that section will be shipped from Price, aiding in advancing the crop shipment from here. Some of the crops near Wellington will agan be shipped from that point. Green River has sixty-thracres in crop this year, a splendid increase over previous seasons, Mr. Branch reports. ur now more than likely that Sunnyside will petition the department along the same line. TWENTY YEAUS AGO - Fireworks Program Presented Here As Convention Number Through courtesy of the Slue 11 Oil Co., a strikingly attractive fireworks, display program was presented at grounds on Saturday evening following the regular western shew entertainment.
