M. 4, 1937 1:M Nooa-er- aof DeUgsWs 1T and Alton Membership Makes Price Legion Third Largest In The Stale At a meeting marked by probably the largest attendance of the year and at which probably the greatest number of ballots ever cast at a local post election Earl Jones, second vice com- mander of the Price American ce year than previously in order that the new officials may attend the state convention sessions and gain the advantage of better understanding of their duties before assuming their posts. The meeting, too, brought a climax to the membership campaign of the local post, two members being added to bring the organizations strength to a new high for Price, one hundred and sixty-fou- r. This considerably surpassed the mark which the post had listed as the desired point by convention time, one hundred and fifty members. It is believed to be a mark which places the Price post as third highest in the state in point of membership, Salt Lake City and Ogden being understood as the only other Legion units in Utah having a greater membership this year than has the local organizaall-ti- self-impos- ed tion. wiimnwumwwiwMiiimiMHMmHiMiwmiiminimiiwwiiiMiiHiHimiNiiiwm sneeura to Price Legion Post Reaches Member Peak Here it is! That hundred and e mark has been reach- sixty-fiv- ed! That was the remark made in unison by Nick Bernardi and Vent Davis, two of the Price Legion posts staunch workers, Monday evening as they walked into the offee of The Sun-Advoca- te. They meant that they had just secured the one hundred and member for the Price Legion posts 1937 roll, a mark which had been set as a possible limit membership for the local organization this year. Jesse Greenwood was the last one to be secured to round out the 1937 membership of the local organization, bringing the total to a point far in excess pf the departments original quota of seventy-five for Price in 1937 and surpassing the mark set by the home communitys veterans unit for attainment by convention time, one hundred and fifty. The hundred and sixty-fiv- e membership mark of the Price post places it as the third largest Legion unit in the state this year, being exceeded only by Salt Lake City and Ogden,.. This gives the local organization by far the greatest membership it has ever enjoyed. . sixty-- fifth Three Dances Will Feature Each Day Of Legion Meeting Dances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings will wind up each days activities of the Legion meet here.
