One having been driven from Colorado and of others who have had no special schooling, training or other essential To safeguard public health in Utah, definite laws have been en- acted to regulate the practice of alt healing Sciences. These demand definite qualifications. A board having been appointed to examine all applicants as to their ability; thus making it illegal to operate with- out such approval. Those who seek illegal services naturally eonbrib- ute to their continuance, probably not being aware of the dangers in- evltably following unskilied methods. With this object in view I present the following information: The brain, spinal cord and nerves are not to be trifled with. Be- ing the most delicate, sensitive and highly developed tissue of the body. The brain is the center of this specialized system and seat of the Spirit or Innate Intelligence. The spinal cord is an elongation of the brain, being composed of the same material and containing tril- lions of nerve fibers. The nerves are an extension of this system, serving as a means of communication between the brain and all por- tions of the body, and even the external environments by means of the special sense nerves. By means of this extensive network, this Innate Intelligence, Contacts, Controls and Governs all processes and functions of every tissue of the body. Coordinating each portion to the good of the whole organization, maintaining it in health and with the natural resistance necessary to withstand even adverse environmental forces by means of intelligent adaptation, which only an Infinite Intelligence is capable of doing. This condition is maintained as long as its means of communication is not interrupted, (by pressure or injury to nerves). As a means of protection these vital tissues have been encased in bony structures, (skull and spinal column). The latter is composed of 24 movable segments, with openings between each permitting the exist of ngrves on either side which supply definite regions of the body. A disc of cartilage separates each vertebra providing ease of movement and flexibility, besides acting as a shock absorber. The spinal column also provides contour, grace, protection and either directly or indirectly effects the entire body by providing support and a means of attachment to numerous ligaments, tendons and muscles. In fact serving as the foundation for the entire body, so that any distortion, curvature or subluxation would of necessity effect the position, movement and function of even remote organs. Without proper skill through specialized study as a means of proper detection and correction of such conditions, one could not only produce injury to the spine but may effect vital and remote portions. or 3 directions, and Curvatures are usually a combination of of two types (Primary and Adaptative), though there are subdivisions of each. The Primary or first usually begins forming when a subluxation is produced, the subluxation resulting from a twist, strain, blow or other external force greater than the natural resisting force. A twist resulting from the concussion of forces, to such a degree that pressure is produced upon nerves and is beyond the power of the muscles, in themselves, to replace without outside aid and properly picture reveal that this happens usually to the first applied. cervical vertebra. The head rests entirely upon this vertebra so naturally tilts or rotates with it, thereby disturbing equalibrium and balance. Nature Compensates for this unbalance by producing adaptive curvatures below thereby equalizing the weight of the body. When a subluxation is corrected the adaptative curvatures below are straightened naturally without outside aid. To attempt to straighten an adaptative curvature forcefully, without first removing the cause, is to work against Nature who has formed them purposefully. Manipulation, massage, stimulants, hydro or electro therapy, etc., may palliate symptoms but unless the cause is corrected any relief is temporary and may even result harmfully when such palliation procrastinates proper correction. Dr. B. J. Palmer, Chiropractics greatest authority, says No man can determine the exact location or position of a subluxation without the use of an and NEUROCALOMETER (Scinetific Instrudetermines the exact poBoth are essential. The ments). sition of a subluxated vertebra, the NEUROCALOMETER the exact location wrhere pressure on nerves exists and when euch pressure has been removed. pictures of the spine show that about ten percent of subluxations are near dislocations. Such cases must not be trifled with. To attempt to correct such without knowing the exact position and location is a risky proceedure. Such conditions are serious and cannot be determined by digital palpation. Accurate detection and correction requires specialized study and scientific instruments. And such conditions may exist without immediate knowledge or discomfort, so that symptoms cannot be relied upon.
