She also enjoyed visits from friends and relatives on her special day. Dale and Debbie Fagan and sons Devin and Dustin and their friend Ernie Newkirk enjoyed a trip to Las Vegas Thursday through Sunday. They met Debbies sister Karen of South Carolina and her boyfriend there and had a great time together. Cub Scout Pack Meeting was held Wednesday evening March 2 1 at Centerfield. The activity was kite making from plastic bags. Steven Heath, son of Sandra and Joey Heath received his wolf badge, one gold arrow, one silver arrow and his art belt loop. Congratulations Steven. Greg and Nannette Despain and Brandon and Tyler of Smithfield visited over the weekend with Kaye and Marius Despain in honor of Marius birthday which was Friday, April 2. Trudy and Kevin Despain had a birthday dinner for Marius on Sunday. Julie and Loni Hammond and boys of Fayette were there along with Kaye and Marius, Nannette Despain and Christi, Jessie, Tarajo and Drew and Lori and David Beck and family of Centerfield. Audrey Boore and Nancy Lee Boore and children traveled to Salt Lake to spend the weekend. Audrey visited with her daughter Nancy Modesto, CA,was here last week visiting with his mother Izolla Bartholomew. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Bartholomew visited Monday through Thursday at Santa Clara with their daughter Janice Oliver and children. Gary Bartholomew, a student at Snow College, spent the weekend at home with his parents ,Mr. and Mrs. Keith Bartholomew. Arva Lee and Karl and Debra Humphrey and Linda and Kendall Bertelson of Aurora attended the prom to see Kerby Bertelson in his promenade. Ryan Newman is also a Junior and participated in the Prom. Elwood and Julie Sorenson attended two proms Friday night to see their grandsons participate in their proms. On Friday, April 2, Troop 648 of the Aurora First Ward Cub scouts held their pack meeting and raced rockets the boys had been working so hard on . The rockets were in all shapes and colors and showed a lot of creativity. There were some mishaps, but in spite of broken wings and rubber bands, everyone seemed to have a great time. Saturday morning was the Easter Egg Hunt at the Aurora City Park, sponsored by the Youth Council. The turnout was tremendous with children and parents from Redmond, Salina and even a few from Glenwood joining Aurora residents for the fun and games. Drawings were held, and a large Easter Basket was given away, as were several small bunnies, hats, and cups. Children up to ten years of age hunted for hidden eggs and goodies, and most came away smiling and a little sticky. Games for older participants included tug of war and egg toss. Coca-Col- a provided free soft drinks for all attending, as well as many of the other prizes given away. The Youth Council is to be congratulated for the great success with the Easter Egg Hunt Yesterday, April 6, was the Regional Science Fair at Southern Utah University, Cedar City, and many students from NSMS attended. Those who placed 1st through 3rd in 529-358- 4 the schools Science Fair last month were able to enter their projects at SUU. Judging was tough, and all projects entered were very well done. At press time, final standings were unavailable. Regardless of the outcome of the Regional Science Fair, all participants from NSMS are to be congratulated. Students at all county schools will be out on Thursday and Friday, April 8 and 9 for Spring Break. The Aurora Council has set a public hearing for Monday, April 12 7 p.m. at the fire station. Topic is revision of the citys animal control ordinance. Many questions have been raised in connection w ith the ordinance and its enforcement. Dog owners and other concerned citizens are strongly urged to attend. If you feel you could use some assistance on paying the $350 sewer connection fee, the city has obtained some grant money that can be used for those who qualify. Contact the city office for more information and to get an application form. Utah wool production Utah Wool production totaled 4.4 million pounds during 1992, down 8 percent from one year ago according to the Utah Agricultural Statistics Service. Total sheep shorn during the year, at 440,000 head, was 4 below the 1991 level. The average fleece weight was 9.9 pounds, 5 below 1991. The average price of wool for Utah was 78 cents per pound, 27 cents higher than the 1992 price. The total value of all wool produced during that year was $3.4 million, 41 higher than last year. Nationally, wool production was 83.4 million pounds, down 5 percent rom a year earlier. Sheep and lambs shorn during 1992 totaled 10.6 million head, a decrease of 4 from 1991. Auctioned horses may have been rustled from range Officials from the Utah and Nevada U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) are investigating whether 144 horses sold at the Delta Livestock Auction on March 22, were wild horses which had been rustled from public lands in Nevada. The sale had been one of the of largest in the state, however, most the horses were allegedly sold to a slaughterhouse for pet food. Don Banks, a spokesman for Utahs BLM, said that a number of questions have been raised about the ownership documents which came with the horses.
