Pam meet with Governor Bangerter at the Capitol to have her picture taken with him. Pam was honored as Utahs Water Educator of the Year. Also accompanying Pam were her sons Paul Jr. and Chan and her mother in law Helen Braithwaite of Manti. The party also meet with Rick and Mary Dove of Ogden and visited with them. There was a fun Christmas party held last week at the Julie Hammond home for all the Fayette women. They enjoyed a pot luck dinner, played games and exchanged gifts. A good crowd attended and everyone had a good time. The Fayette yearly Christmas party was held Saturday night at the home of Dale and Delois Dorius. Torrie Lee entertained with a clogging dance, Margene Mellor and Jackie Picked sang songs, accompanied by Thelma Mellor, Tim and Carolyn Christensen sang and Tim played his guitar, and Keller Christensen sang and Marain accompanied them. Marian also played her accordion. The group also played games, eat and exchanged fun gifts. Visiting Saturday and h Sunday with Andy and Tamra and daughter Amanda were Tamras family of Salt Lake and Springville. They enjoyed a family get together Christmas party. Saturday Cecil and Loran Bown and sons Bob and Janice and children and Mrs. David Bown and children enjoyed a family Christmas party with LoransmotherShirlcy Nielsen and family. Kenneth and Clark Bown are home for the holidays with their parents-Mrand Mrs. Cecil Bown and family. A lovely family Christmas party was held at the Christiansen home in Orem Sunday. Kathleen, Monarae and Vernal were the host. Their guests were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Christiansen and family of Mayfield, Mr. and Mrs. Kent Despain and family of Centerficld, Kirk Mellor of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. John Moore and sons of Orem and Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Mellor of Fayette. The Whitney Christensen Christmas party was held this year at their sons home in West Valley City. Paul and Pauline hosted 28 family members with a delicious ham dinner and all the trimmings. Those attending were Leon and Nayna and their son and wife, Bryant, and Pauls daughter, Julie, and 2 sons from Tremonton, and another Annette and Brent and one son, from Salt Lake. Boyds children Lynn, Jolcne and Shea came from Brigham City, and Glen and Trcesa and three children from Franklin, Idaho. Gifts were exchanged and all spent a fun Rim-masc- . day together. McKay and Norma Roberts held their family Christmas Party Saturday at the Redmond Cultural Hall. Forty-fiv- e family members enjoyed a visit from Santa, opening gifts, dinner and games. Even though the weather was cold outside the feelings of being together were very warm inside. Kirt and Mitzie Rasmussen are tickled pink to announce the birth of their new daughter. Lillie Carlie was bom in the Gunnison Valley hospital and is welcomed home by two older brothers, Daniel and Dustin, and two older sisters Crystal and Teanna. Her local grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. rodney Rasmussen, are Salina, and Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Rasmussen, of Salina. The Redmond Ward held their adult Christmas party Tuesday evening. Roast beef with all the trimmings was the menu. The program was presented by some ladies from the Aurora Second Ward. They sang some songs. It was a nice evening. Scott and Cynthia Wilkinsand daughter, Nebraska, are here visiting for the holidays with the Kendyl Wilkins family and with Meryl Hansen. The ship, the Enoch Train, sailed out of Liverpool, England, on March 23, 1856 for America. Archer Walters, a passenger on this voyage, recorded much of the journeys events in his diary. On March 25, he wrote, A good strong wind. The ship heaved and worked and nearly all sick...Got out of the Irish channel about 6 oclock. His April 1 entry: A sister died during the night...a rough day. Ship rolled and boxes rattled. Bottles upset and bedsteads broke down. The next day he wrote: The dead sisters body committed to the deep. It was the first I ever saw buried in the sea and I never want to see another. A rough day all day. 39-da- Unfortunately, Archer Walters his wish. On April 24, he records: Very cold morning. A child died at 4 oclock... 12 oclock the ship is still. Quit a calm. The little boy is committed to the deep. Quite a solemn time to the children and parents as well; indeed all sailors looked straight down their noses. The voyage included births as well as deaths. Four babies were bom onboard. Two of the newborns received Enoch as a first or middle name. The Enoch Train docked at Constitution Wharf in Boston on the first of May. The emigrants traveled by train to New York and Iowa where they began making handcarts and preparing for the long journey to Salt Lake City. Cameron Jensen, son of Allen and Louise Jensen has returned home from serving a mission for the LDS Church in Korea. He will be reporting his mission Sunday, the 27th of December at 10:45 in the Redmond Ward. Jeff and Leslie Christensen and daughter, Kaylie spent Friday night with the Gordon Johnsons and visiting with the Roger Scotts and getting acquainted with little Ashlie Scott. The Scotts had a lot of company Sunday. Jennifers aunts Jan and Albert Brown and children, Loa, RaNac and Darwin Jackson, Richfield. The Terry Hansens, Midvale and Valene King and children, Gunnison, all spent time with them. Sunday, Mitzie Rasmussen was released as a Sunday School Teacher and Alan Peterson was sustained. Crystal Lund, daughter of Craig and Debbie Lund was presented her graduation from Primary certificate. Darryl Bosshardt, son of Neal and Marcia Bosshardt was presented to be ordained to the office of Teacher in the Aaronic Priesthood. Dustin Jensen, son of Gary and Lola Jensen was presented to be ordained to receive the office of a Teacher in the Aaronic Priesthood. Ryan Heath, son of Russell and Mavis Heath was presented to receive the office of Priest in the Aaronic Priesthood. Remember everyone, the annual Redmond Ward Christmas Eve program will be held Thursday evening in the Cultural Hall at 6:30p.m. There will be a short program and a visit from Santa. She plans to return in the spring to speak with area high school students. She says she is looking forward to returning to this area. She appreciated the warmth and friendliness of the local people, and said she enjoyed her visit.
