Show IQ The Salina Sun. Wednesday. Oct. 2. 1991 pvavvtmrS4 v ' ' '1 North Sevier loses to Beaver; will travel to Hurricane Friday Homecoming didnt turn out the way the Wolves wanted it at least in football terms as the Wolves lost to Beaver 44-In the beginning it was a defensive battle between the two teams as neither team was able to score until half way through the second quarter. Beaver was first on the board and then it went down hill for the Wolves both offensively and defen0. sively. Beaver was able to gamer 210 yards of total offense split between 1 14 yards of rushing and 96 yards of passing. North Sevier was on the other side of the spectrum as their offense never was able to rush or pass very effectively. The Wolves were good for 58 yards total offense with 1 1 coming from the rush and 47 North Sevier High School Homecoming 1991 yards passing. Their rushing game was completely off as they carried the ball 1 3 times for 1 1 yards. Matt Sorensen had three kick off returns for 40 yards before he was hurt in the game and was taken out. North Sevier threw the ball 15 times completing four. Lance Mick-else- n was the bright spot in the passing game as he hauled in three passes for 39 yards from quarter back Rhet Hallows. Penalties and turnovers were also in the game. North Sevier factors big had four penalties for 40 yards and one touchdown called back. They had nine fumbles of which they lost seven of them to Beaver. Beaver was penalized 7 times for 65 yards. Defensively Robbie Jensen was hot for the game. He had 1 QB sack, 3 unassisted and 8 assisted tackles and caused two fumbles. Not bad for an afternoons work. Daniel Allred and Ernie Roper also had good statistics. This game was a tough one on North Sevier players as Matt Sorensen will be out for the year with a broken leg. Ryan Roberts and Branden Pierce will be out a week with a bruised arch and hurt shoulder respectively. The Wolves will travel to Hurricane this weekend to play a team that they match up with both in size and offensive and defensive structure. Because they run the same offense and defense as Hurricane the Wolves feel they should be up for this game. If we can get the offense up and running we should be able to stay in this game and build some confidence, said assistant coach Jeff Edwards. The JV also suffered a loss to Beaver 26-- 6 as did the Freshman as The freshmen team they lost 12-had a much closer game though as they were inside the five yard line three times only to turn the ball over on fumbles each of those times. 0.
