Show Wednesday,-NQV,-14.-199Q- (r - Three lost hunters are found safe Viewpoint The Way It Looks From Here Carol S. Jensen I never dreamed it would happen to me! Ive heard others talk about it, and wondered if they were pulling my leg...but the other day I found out the truth! It was a beautiful Sunday morning - clear and bright, full of the calm and peace that fits in perfectly with Sabbath day activities. As church-tim- e drew near, I began getting ready, beginning of course, with the basic item - a lovely new pair of panty hose. You fellows who have never experienced donning a pair of panty hose just plain dont know what youre missing. Maybe some day when your wife isnt home you should try wriggling into the tiny its a good aerobic exercise. I pulled the pair out of their little package. It was comical as I held them up to the light, to see that my one arm would fill them to overflowing in their present state. And it was even more amazing to me that they would stretch and expand from that tiny wrinkled mess to fit my more than ample body. I finished dressing and went merrily on my way. As I walked up the stairs into the chapel, I felt that I should give the new hose just one more hike, but that idea ended when the Bishop rounded the comer of the hall and stopped a minute to chat. Oh, well, I thought, Im almost late anyway, and hurried in to find a seat. The opening song was beautiful, and I sang at the top of my voice - for the singing of hymns is one of my favorite parts of the services. Suddenly, I felt the top of the tight elastic at the top of my waist begin to roll....downward! Somewhat nervously I tried to grasp the top with the fingers of one hand, pretending that I was itching...The little girl standing on the bench in front of me eyed me curiously. Undaunted, the rolling continued and almost with an audible sigh cleared the summit of my abdomen and raced down to the top of my legs. I was bound - a prisoner of the panty hose! on my options. After meetings Mentally, I did a end I could head to the other end of the hall for the ladies room and take care of the problem, or I could go just a pinch farther outside and be in my car headed for home. My rendition of the closing song wasnt quite as charismatic as the opener, and when I said Amen to the closing prayer I really meant it. Well, now what? I calculated the distance to be traveled under both options - and decided on the car. Was that ever a mistake? The tight band around the top of my legs was forcing me to take tiny little steps, almost Oriental in fashion. As I neared the stairs the roll had proceeded another inch Did you ever try taking a step up or two, and was about or down with your thighs bound together? It is an interesting experience! I tried to be graceful as I literally grabbed the right side of the erring hose and attempted to deter any further decline. play-by-pl- mid-thig- h. Friends chatted along the way. I smiled faintly, and continued my shuffling pace- -' I nearly raced to the car - still clutching the side of my dress, and slid thankfully into the car seat - the pesky panty hose now nearing my knees. I struggled to move my legs to shift and brake, and never have I been more thankful to reach the sanctuary of home. Ive only told my daughter about this experience, it took her quite a while to stop laughing...Please dont tell my immediate family theyd never let rpe forget it! - - BURNING AT THE DUMP Continued from Page 1 this they must submit a compliance plan explaining: 1. Three Salt Lake City black powder hunters who had been the object of a major search in the Convulsion Canyon area east of Salina, were found safe last Monday afternoon. Captain Bud Larsen, of the Sevier County Sheriffs office, said Craig Cowan, 38; his son. Cable 13,; and Kim Morrilli, 29; had been hunting in the area with four other persons. The three left camp Sunday mOming and said they would be back at noon. When they had not returned by 3 p.m., the rest of their party began searching. When they had not been located by nightfall, the sheriffs office was notified and the search got underway at midnight. Capt. Larsen said that more than a dozen members of the Sevier County Sheriffs Jeep Posse joined the search, along with two Civil Air Patrol planes. The search was suspended about 11 a.m. due to a snow storm moving into the area. Larsen said that the three had decided to hunt in the Sheep Creek area about 26 miles from camp, and their pickup truck had become stuck. One of the three walked to the road and passing motorists took him to camp. The sheriffs department was notified about 4 p.m. Monday that all were safe. Meeting hears public priorities road constructionrepair in A Special Improvement District public hearing was held recently, with the purpose of hearing from the public on planned priorities on proposed road improvements. An informal poll was taken by officials to find just how the priorities of those attending stacked up. They found that the Aurora to State Road 50 project had great audience support, as did the 5th South improvements in Richfield. The Aurora project is now ranked 4th on the Sevier County Road Improvement Needs and Plan report. The Richfield project did not appear on the top ten priority listing. Some Richfield residents complained that the use of ATVs and bicycles on the roads was causing a lot of dust, and asked if the route could be changed. City officials noted that the park is used by many Sevier county communities and any improvement would benefit all. The District reported that the estimated cost of its top ten project was near $1,555,000. Other projects on the list have planned construction dates from 1991 to 1994. The road plan calculated annual budget of about $800,000, and called for 2 to 5 miles of new construction or major improvements yearly; five to six miles of pavement restoration and surfacing each year, as well as two to four miles of new construction each year. Cost estimates of road construction and improvements and bridge and canal culvert replacement were estimated to be $1,350,000. Wes Sorensen, Special Service District chairman said that only Man charged with sexually molesting teenage boys Laurence C. Reiser, Richfield, has been suspended from practicing as a psychologist in Utah, according to the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing in the Department of Commerce. Thepetition filed alleges Reiser sexually molested and assaulted eight male juvenile clients and attempted to assault or molest one additional male juvenile client, all of whom were under his care during elett Group Home in Sevier County, to provide psychological services to male juvenile residents. Iri ordering the suspension, the Division believes that these acts demonstrate a continuing course of conduct which poses an immediate and significant danger to the health, safety, or welfare of any client who may require his services. A hearing will be held Novem- 1989-9- 0. ber 19 to determine whether the Order of Immediate Suspension should be upheld. During this time, Reiser had contracted with the Sorenson Boys Ranch, Koosharem, and the Row- - about half of the needed funds were available. The district has been appropriated $714,400 for total construction and annual improvement costs. A portion of this may be vetoed by the Sevier County Commission for construction of a public safety facility. This proposed facility would house all police and correction offices. Those attending the meeting expressed opposition to this plan. Sorensen noted that many people were asking for dust control. However he said that paving was not the final answer. He assured the group that district officials were aware of these problems and were investigating different ways of surfacing. r Classifieds Call Call 529-783- Tom Christensen to be honored Retiring state representative Tom Christensen, Venice, will be honored by farmers and ranchers from throughout the state for his work on their behalf.
