Governor Norman Bangerter has declared the month of December Help the Hungry Month. Over 3,500 pounds of food each week are distributed by emergency food banks throughout Utah. While generous donations of food are received year round, it is critical that food banks be replenished before the upcoming holidays so that no one in Utah will go hungry this Christmas Season. Suggested donations include canned meats, canned fish, canned soups, four, rice, beans, and baby food. Only imperishable, commercially prepared foods can be accepted - no home canned or fresh produce, or meat can be accepted due to health laws. Bangerter urges all Utahns to search their hearts and cupboards and share with those less fortunate. Donations will be accepted locally at Valley Community Church, 34 East 200 South, Richfield from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. during weekdays. for more Call 896-663- more Richfield Help the Hungiy month wunere it is inrougn extension, correspondence courses, or just the college. That's an appealing concept, don't you agree? It has great meaning to we who associate so closely with our friends and patients at the Care Center. Our older patients, as well as the younger folks, are more happy and fulfilled in their dailiy living when we are able to get them involved and excited about living. It's easy to find life discouraging and meaningless when there are no plans in it for living, and that feeling is accentuated generally as you get older. We could write many stories about the effects of an active, meaningful life. When there is no living' there is no life. That's why everyone gets up and at it each day and plans for the week and month of things that will be accomplished. One of the keys is helping others. The best success stories for living the rest of your life are those where folks are helping others. Life then is more purposeful and meaningful. All of us are a lot happier each day when we Plan on Lzving the Rest of our Lives'. Try it, youll like it. Nothing left to tax Final date for filing those Sevier County property taxes is Monday, November 30, 1987. As you dig down deep into your wallets, you might keep this little jingle in mind: Tax his cow, tax his goat, tax his pants, tax his coat. Tax his crops, tax his work, tax his tie, tax his shirt. Tax his chew, tax his smoke, teach him taxes are no joke. Tax his tractor, tax his mule, teach him taxes are the rule. Tax ms oil, tax his gas, tax his notes, tax his cash. Tax him good and let him know that after taxes he has no dough. If he hollers, tax him more. Tax him till hes good and sore. Tax his coffin, tax his grave, tax the sod in which hes laid. Put these word upon his tomb Taxes drove me to my doom. And after hes gone, he cant relax - theyll still be after inheritance tax!
