The Holfeins farms, of Beaver, Utah, donated half of the price of each cow to the Chapter, giving the Chapter the opportunity to own four instead of two cows. Gelbvieh The Gelbvieh breed was developed from four yellow breeds of cattle. The- se are Yellow Franconian, Lim- burg and Lahn. These breeds were developed in 1850. They were brought together in the Gelbvieh breed in 1920. The cattle are single colored and vary from cream to reddish yellow. They are of medium wei ght and size, have gook milking ability and produce a very acceptable carcass. The cattle market is in the midst of a turnaround and now is the time to invest or expand your herd of Gelbvieh. With the prospects of expansion of cattle numbers, those Gelbvieh calves will be much in demand. No other breed has as much to offer the cable business as does Gelbviei . Get that added edge now to increase your profits in the future. The Chapter plans to use up to date breeding methods in producing purebred stock for the breeding bull market. It is the hope of the Chapter that this will give the students a real life experience in the world of Purebred Producers. llW DOUGLAS A.
