Present Outlook for Dairy Industry Due to poor pastures, there was an unusual decline in butter production from August to September. This, to- gether with the increased consumption for this season over 1930, resulted in better prices for dairy products. The reduced production and better demand brought about a large out of storage movement with the result that on September 1 of this year the cold storage holdings were below the average. These factors have contributed materially to improving the dairy markets during recent months and this condition will undoubtedly be reflected in price of dairy products during the fall and winter months. The number of milk cows has been increasing in the United States for a number of years, and will probably continue, but the rate of increase is apparently declining. The number of dajry calves being kept for dairy cows decreased in 1930. The present large number of dairy cows is a favorable factor for the production of large quantities of dairy products. Prices of feed grains are now abnormally low in comparison with the price of butterfat The present prices one-thir- five-ye- d ar Lions Clubs Sponsor Confidence Week te Northwestern . coeds want free smoking, according to a recent newsof cencentrates are lower in relation paper dispatch. Because Principal Scorup is without a secretary in the office, the students of this class do secretarial work. In this way they get actual experience that is more valuable than any exercises might be. Each student has a certain division of the office work to do. The students have been assigned as follows: Verla Madsen, office records, office correspondence; John Jorgensen and Maurice Rasmussen, check on notes and tuition, filing of records, care of library, first period; Ernest and Irene Bastian, placard for whereabouts of students each period, placard of tardiness and absence; Bessie Andreason, absence reports; Lavell Christensen, delivery of absence reports and mail; Byron Jensen, compiling of sets of magazines; Verl Poulson, library period before school; Byron Jensen, library, third period; Manilla Curtis and Verla Madsen, library; noon; Junior Frand-selibrary, after school. The students are becoming very efficient, and in addition to the knowledge they are acquiring, they are proving a great aid to the school. .First State Bank OF SALINA . .. Salina H. S. .
