The child is in a precarious condition as the result of the fearful burns and every medical attention is being administered by Dr. Hagan to save the little life. after curing sonv Ilenryj matches and wandering to a pile of posts and logs, stationed several hiindred feet f:om the Hammond home, started a fire in some bark and a gust of wind started the blaze with fury. Henry, in trying to get away, had his left foot caught between two posts and was held a prisoner, while the flames crept closer and set fire to his clothing. Unable to extricate himself, the boy was held fast vvhilt the blaze consumed his clothing up to the middle of his body. At this time the strings of his shoe were burec1 and Henry was then able to pull foot to freedom. Although suffering intensely, he managed to get to KisTiome and Mr. and Mrs. Hammond hurriedly brought the boy to Gunni son where, first aid treatment and a careful examination wat made of the burns. It was found that the left leg from the ankle up to a point just above the knee, was seared almost to a crispness. From just above the knee to the lower part of the abdomen the boy was also terribly scarred while the clothing was slowly burned from the little body. Little' Henry, while suffering intense pain, shows a great deal of fortitude and is making a valiant fight for his life. Reports from the Hammond home last even ing were to the effect that the Tittle boy was doing as well as could be expected. He will be held here foi a day or so for observation and if complications develop the boy will be taken to Salt Lake and given expert medical attention. Mr. and Mrs. Hammond had the misfortune to losfe their daughter last November when a sand bank caved, entombing the girl until her life was taken through suffocation.
