The game was exceedingly interesting from two standpoints, first, that our boys kept the lead throughout the game, and second, that they all did splendid playing in the field and displayed some exceptional team work. The feature of the game was the pitching of Lewis for the home club. He struck out fourteen opposing batsmen which proved most discouraging to the Elsinore rooters. The game began with each team making one score. Then Salina put forth their best efforts, took the lead and held their opponents well in control for the rest of the contest. However, in the seventh inning Elsinore succeeded in getting another man across the plate. Edwin Bird distinguished himself by scoring three times. rs it the greatest War Is Started On Hot Ashes Cause Of Dreaded Whitetop Serious Accident REDMOND Norma, the two year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wilkinson, , ! met with serious injuries Saturday morning when she accidentally fell into a bed of hot ashes. The child was playing in the front yard of the farm home, when she stumbled over a cobble and unfortunately fell into the remains of a fire where rubbish had previously been burned. The shrieks and cries of pain soon attracted her parents attention and they came at once to her rescue. Upon examination they found that both hands of the child had been badly burned. The child was then hurriedly brought to town and given first aid treatment. The doctors examination showed that the injuries on the left hand were not as bad as those inflicted on the right, but that it would be some time before the bandages can be removed from the childs hands. Last reports were to the effect that the bums were healing nicely. repairs. Curtis of Aurora; laid and written about the issue and Frank G. Harward and Margaret our readers, no doubt, are familiar with the arguments set forth by those favoring the bond issue and those opposing it. We do not want to repeat or refute. The only thing we want to do here is to boil down the Tong and weary discussion to a few sentences pertaining to real facts. A committee of five conscientious investigators, some large taxpayers among them, admitted that the board of education needs the money asked for if our schools are to be maintained at the present good standard. This means that trhe schools cannot be kept up at a reasonably good standard if the money to do so is not furnished in pome way, be it by special tax or by bonds. Tax authorities agree that in a case like ours the issuance of aerial bonds, the sort the board of education is proposing, is the most desirable way to borrow the money. This being agreed upon, the thing revives itself to the simple fact: Do you want our schools to be good schools? If so, vote for the bonds. If you vote no, it will mean that you do not want good schools. It is up to you to decide in the affirmative or the negative. The school board members are your servants. They will do as you bid them to do. 10-2- EVOLUTION A industry conducting a test all over Sevier county to find out whether all cows in the county are free from tuberculosis. Dr. Jones and Dr. Perry of the U. & bureau, together with the local veterinarians, Dr. Curtis and Dr. Nebeker, are making the tests and will appreciate the assistance of the cattle owners who ought to bring the animals promptly for the test. The testing fee is 25 cents a head, payable at the time of the test. When notified by an inspector it is the duty of every owner to have his cattle tied in the bam or other convenient place at the date and hour designated by the inspector so the test may be applied. If this order is not complied with, it becomes the duty of the inspector to quarantine the cattle. Monday tests were made in Cove, Sevier, Clear Creek and Joseph, Tuesday in Annabella, Central, Glenwood and Venice. In other Sevier county places the tests will be as follows: Monday, July 6 Monroe and vicinity.
