Seel Tronl James Gledhill, who has been at the Beauregard farm at Round Valley during the past few months, died very suddenly at the Salina hospital last night at about ten oeloek. Mr. Gledhill, while at work in the fields Wednesday afternoon, was stricken, and Dr. Leo MerThe stricken rill was summoned. man was brought to Salina and placed in the hospital for treatment. The malady, apparently, was not seiious and yesterday Mr. Gledhill, while suffering some pain, was able to converse with the attendants and friends. Shortly before ten oclock last night the stricken man spoke a few woids and within ten minutes death claimed the life. Mr. Gledhill had suffered for some lime with complications of the stom-pt- h and daring his service in the army underwent an operation for appendicities. Twice he was operated on for an injury he received on his leg while in the wTar service, and it is believed these complications resulted in an internal injury.
