Mr Hall died last Saturday following an accident which befell him the early part of last month. He was thrown from the horse which he was riding and suffered bad bruises. When convalescing he decided to have an operation for the removal of his tonsils. This was done and following rheumatic fever set in which, with other complications, are given as the cause of death. The opening song for the services for Mr. Hall was God Be With You and following Bishop C. E. Today, Petergon gave an impressive talk, eulogizing the high character of the young man. Prayer was offered by J. C. Jensen and others who took part in the ceremonies were Oscar Iven, who sang a solo, solos by Mr. Mickelsen of Redmond, and Mr. Overson of the high school. Mr. Hall was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Hall of Manti, and besides these he is survived by a sorrowing wife, Mary May Hall, and .'our children, Ollie, Mabel, Austin md Lester Ilall, all of Manti. Other dose relatives are Mrs. Jesse Albertson and Mrs. Claud Taylor of Loa, Mrs. Edith Taylor of Marysvale, and r brother, L. N. Hall, Jr., who resides n California. The deceased joined the L. D. S. church when but 8 years of age. ile was a faithful worker and spent some time on a mission for the church at Ft. Deposit, Alabama. He came to Utah in December, 1919. In 1913 he was married to Annie May Sullivan at Mt. Willing, Alabama. For two years he was president of the Mutuals and taught'the parents class in the Sunday school for a period of two years. El-wo- 15 There were five candidates for the position at Richfield: Judge II. N. Hayes, Attorney N. J. Bates, Attorney Parley Magleby, W. W. Buchanan and Miss Eva 'Borquist. Judge Hayes and N. J. Bates were the popular candidates at the polls at Richfield, with Parley Magleby The results coming a close third. of the election were: H. N. Hayes, 168 votes; N. J. Bates, 128; Parley Magleby, 92; W. V. Buchanan, 55; Miss Borquist, 4. In the Joseph-Elsinor- e district there was only one candidate, F. A. Gay. The present school board members that will assume, office on January 1st, are: S. M. Jorgensen, Salina; Judge H. N. Hayes, Richfield; F. A. Gay, of Elsinore; Willard Oldroyd, of Glenwood; Lewis M. Jones of . Monroe. n lilt Injure! Sum Simple, spirited experienced for many years and when the final ballots were counted the results showed S. M. Jorgensen, representative elect from this district, victorious with a plurality of 170 votes. Jorgensens opponents were Mrs. Dr. Freece, present incumbent of this city, and Moroni Lazenby of Aurora. The fact that three candidates were in the field tended to spur the supporters of all to an active battle. Mrs. Dr. Margaret A. Freece, present incumbent and a graduate of an eastern college, has served efficiently during her administration and her services have been highly satisfactory. Her vote at Wednesdays election was 88. Moroni Lazenby, president of the North Seiver Stake, and who was a candidate from Aurora, polled 188 votes. Redmond joined forces with Aurora, thus giving Lazenby a higher vote than that of Dr. Freece. S. M. Jorgensen, the victor in the battle, had 306 vites to his credit when the votes were counted. The vote in the city showed 283 for Jorgensen, Dr. Freece 53 and Lazenby Badly Beta fcr Basin to liv'd work canied on by survey- Edward Andreason, the is After suffering from illness for 5Iis. With filing articles of incorporation for the Columbia Steel corporation development of Utahs iron and coal deposits in the building of ai. all western steel industry appears assured. The incorporators mentioned are known to be associated witl other California and Utah men in the construction of blast furnaces and coke ovens near Spring-vill.where pig iron will be manufactured for the steel mills of the West Interests merged to compose the Columbia Steel companys mills at Pitts burg, California and coal and iro. interests associated with L. F. Rains, president of the Carbon Fuel company. Other steel mills situated in the Pacific coast territory will draw upon the Utah pig iron product, it is believed, and plans as previously outlined contemplate unit additions at periods of five years until the annual output is in excess of 500,000 tons. The first of these four units is now under course of coustruction on a plant site recently acquired between Provo and Springville, in Utah county. Iron deposits in the Iron Springs district of Iron county and coking coal deposits near Sunnyside, Carbon county', are in process of development to supply the coal and iron that are necessary to pig iron manufacture. Limestone deposits within a short hauling distance from the plant site furnish the flux required. one-ha- lf ct e L .Christopherson is spendweek in Salt Lake as the the ing of her son and his family. guest Mrs. l; !
