Dr. Louis Merrill has been named general chairman of the 1956 event, and stated early this week various committees have been named to carry out the detailed arrangements for the many features. LIGHTS GO UP Downtown Salina will again be decorated with a multitude of cheery holiday lights, as the initial phase of the program. The lights will go up Sunday, December 2nd, under direction of the Jaycees, assisted by the Lions Club. Members of both organizations are asked to meet at Moms Cafe at 8 a.m. to carry out the job. The lights will be turned on December 3rd or as soon thereafter as the Telluride Power Company crews can make the connections. Fathers-son- s lA Lars Peterson The business meeting and election of officers for the Salina Riding Club, scheduled for December 1st, has been changed to the 8th, due to other entertainments planned for the 1st. The program, supper and election will be the same on the week later date. Clifford Peterson of Aurora, suffered a painful eye injury at the clay mill Friday afternoon. Mr. Peterson walked by an emery wheel in use by Glen Mason, when a hot piece of the emery struck him in the eye, He was given emergency treatment at the Salina Hospital, and then transferred to Provo to an eye specialist, who removed the emery.
