Show SSers International Highway Assoc. Open 3-D- Convention Friday In Kanab ay An estimated 300 business and civic leaders, representing communities in five western states, Canada and Old Mexico, will atconvention of the tend the International Highway scheduled to open at Kanab, Utah, on October 12th. The convention agenda, as announced by Martin H. Cantwell of Salt Lake City, executive sechighway retary of the organization, will combine 'he discussion of tourist and highway matters with sightseeing tours of Bryce and Zion National Parks in Southern Utah, and both rims of Arizonas Grand Canyon. The Canadian delegation attending the Kanab convention will be headed by Dan E. C. Campbell of Edmonton, director Government of the Alberta Travel Bureau. Sr. Guillermo Sedano of Guadalajara, Association Director in Old Mexico, will head the delegation from below the border. Officers and members from Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah and Arizona, will represent their respective states. Close scrutiny of proposed state and federal road planning, aimed at protecting the interests of existing communities on U.S. 89, and increasing the facilities of the highway as a popular tourist route, will occupy much of the convention agenda, Cantwell said. Promotional and publicity plans to be discussed will include the making of a colored movie of the entire international highway system, and the publishing of a highway guide brochure containing detailed information on all parks and recreational areas adjacent to the route. The Association was organized two years ago, to publicize U.S. Route 89, Canada's Alberta Route 2, and Mexicos newly paved west coast route 15 as the 89'ers Association, alvcSaUnuvuu Classified Ads nections with the highway to Alaska. According to Cantwell, the combined highways provide access to more national parks, monuments and popular recreational areas than any other North American route. Henderson, Extension Animal Husbandman, is scheduled to grade beef bulls in Sevier County, Tuesday and Wednesday, October 16 and 17, states Lee Guymon, County Agricultural Agent. All beef producers that want bulls graded should notify Mr. Guymons office at once, so that a grading schedule can be drawn up and mailed out. Those who have bulls to grade should have the registration papers and confine the bulls so the tattoo in the ear can be read, says the agent. Cattle Lice Saps Profits As cattlemen know, Fall is a good time to spray cattle for lice control. True, cattle prices are not what producers would like, and the drouth presents financial problems, but the more lice you feed, the more you lose, said Mr. Guymon. Spraying to kill lice doesnt cost, it pays. Be sure to invest enough money to control your cattle lice. Dont let them suck away your profits. ' FOR RENT Small furnished'' apartment.
