Show i PAGE The 8 Television Set Gives Reception Former Residents Visit Washington Crosier, manager of the Sevier Valley Merc., returned Friday from Salt Lake, where he had served two weeks on Federal jury duty, and also taken time to attend a television sales and service school, sponsored by General Electric. Mr. Crosier has been experimenting with a television set in his home for some time, and a new model that he has recently installed, is now giving fairly good pictures and sound, both day and night, or at any time the Salt Lake City stations are broadcasting He feels that excellent reception will be received next month with completion of the two new television towers by the two Salt Lake stations. With reception as good as it is now, and with the stations increasing their power from 4 to 10 times, and raising their towers to over 9,000 feet, the local sets should be near perfect, the local dealer stated. Sa-lin- JUST ARRIVED - Classified Ads family made recently to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hersel Scott at Alexandria, Virginia. The article is of special interest to relatives and friends in the birthplace of Mrs. McCostlin and Mrs. Scott. S.F.C. W.C. and Mrs. McCostlin and children, Don, Larry and Pam, of Aberdeen, Md., motored to the Scott home on a week end visit. The Scotts took them on a sightseeing tour of D C., and visited Washington, the noted places in the Nations Capitol, Blair House, the White House, the Capitol Building, Lincolns Jefferson Memorial, Memorial. The visitors, with the Scotts and daughters, Bonnie and Peggy, rode the elevator for the 555 feet to the top of the tower in Washingtons Memorial. Sgt. McCostlin and children returned by the stairs. On each landing, was a plaque of each state in the Union, and of every foreign country that had donated to the building of the memorial. Following a visit in the park, the group drove to Mt. Vernon and visited the home farm of George Washington, overlooking the Patomac River, and also visited the Washingtons tomb. Mrs. McCostlin also mentioned how beautiful the leaves and trees were in full autumn colors, which reminded the girls of the fall colors at home in Salina. She concludes that Alexandria is a very pretty city, and the Scotts home is among the prettiest, and is only a three-hodrive from the home of the McCostlins in Aberdeen. -- 9-- W CARD OF THANKS OCTOBER 24, 1952 sauna sun, sauna, utah 0 P A CHANCE TO Color by Technicolor Cartoon SEAT THESE PRICES BOTH 86 PROOF OLD SUNNY BROOK BRAND KENUJCKY BLENDED WHISKEY CONTAINS THE OLD 65X GRAIN NEUTRAL SPIRITS SUNNY BROCK COMPANY, LOUISVILLE, KY.
