They have seen many of their favorite stories in color film. The smoke was caused when some gun powder, made by the students, was set off, to show how explosives react. This is just one of the many experiments that are 'being carried on in the chemistry department, to give students first hand information. So if you happen to see or smell strange things, you will know the chemistry class is at work. Notice is hereby given that the County Convention of the Republican Party for Sevier County, will be held at County Court House, in Richfield, the county seat of said county, at oclock P.M., on Saturday, the 1st day of March, 1952; that at said convention, delegates of Sevier County for the Republican State Convention, will be elected and a County Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, and a County Central Committee, to serve for the ensuing two years, will be chosen, and other party affairs may be con 2.-0-0 sidered. Notice is further hereby given that the County Primary Convention of the Republican Party for Sevier County, will be held at Sevier County Court House, in Richfield, the county seat of said county, at 2:00 oclock PM., on Saturday, the 9th day of August, 1952. At said County Primary Convention, nominees shall be selected to run on the party ticket at the regular primary election. Delegates to such county convention, shall be chosen at a Republican mass meeting, to be held in each voting district in the county, on or before the 26th day of February, 1952. Because the boards will be trod by players who may represent entirely different views, the Richfield drama may be full of surprises. The meeting could, conceivably, have an effect on American farming comparable to the invention of the McCormick Reaper. For American farmers who once depended on the Lords whim to provide them water now know with that He has often failed them, and with the realistic approach which has marked the farmers work in the past decade, 6tock and crop raisers have turned to the man who has conclusively proven he can increase rainfall. George M. Madsen of Salt Lake, was an Aurora visitor last week. The husbands of the Optimistic Club of Aurora, entertained their wives at a dinner at the Voyle Bagley home, Monday night. Hosts were Edwin Soren-seWill Sorensen, Frank Gerald Mason, Grover Shepherd, Cline Sorensen, Ray Mason, Alma Sorensen, Earl Kennedy, Con Wilks, DeWitte Hallows. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Curtis were special guests. Friends of Mrs. Verr Durfee called at the Durfee home Monday afternoon to wish her a happy birthday. During the day, 850 head of cattle, 10 sheep and 47 hogs went across the block. Extreme top for fat steers was 22 Vi, with an average of 30 to 31 V4. Hogs were steady at 1)7 cents. O The increase in investment has been very substantial for two reasons. First, we have tried average approximating 1,300,000. d, Last week, we enjoyed a very pleasant surprise. We were studying about the amusements of the pioneers. Molasses candy was about the only candy the pioneer children had. Luanns mother sent us a treat of some molasses candy. We had a spelling bee. It was fun. We are studying about our natural resources, industries, exports, and imports of Salina and Sevier County. We are learning how we help other people of the world, and how they help us. 5th Grade Every Friday, the students of the 5th grade spend a period square dancing. We have learned many wonderful dances, and we enjoy them very much. Last week, some of the children from our class were asked to dance some square dances in the Sweetheart Ball. We had a good time, and hope we can continue with our dancing. During the past two or three weeks, we have invited the students from Mrs. Larsens 5th grade to join us in our square dancing, and we think they are enjoying it also. 6th Grade The students of the 6th grade have been studying and learning proper English. We have been learning the correct words to use and when to use them. We enjoy this study very much, and hope it will help us in our speech and in our writing. Tax-Payin- g Industry |
