Also, Major Hickman made the acquaintance of a daughter, Pamela, born in Japan, and while the officer has been at the front. It will be two years in August since the Hickmans left for service overseas, and Major Hickman has been in Korea since fighting began. He is a brother of Mrs. Bird, and the family lived here for many years. In Salina For Funeral Final Rites For Redmond Mother Funeral Rites For Mr. Smith Funeral services were held April 4th in the Redmond chapel for Mrs. Ruby Eliza Christiansen Stevens, who died March 30th, following a stroke. Interment was in the Redmond cemetery, and the last resting place was dedicated by Erastus Christensen. Funeral services for C. J. Smith were held at 11 oclock a m. in the Redmond chapel, April 3rd, under the direction of Bishop Lamar Bosshardt. He also threw the shot 44 feet inches, to add 2!i inches to that record. Wasatch Academy broke the mile relay record with a time of 3:48.1, as compared to the old time of 3:53 8.
