Valda Hales gave a vignette on an outstanding woman, Eliza Lucas Pinckney. JoAnn Stucki played a beautiful piano solo. Donna Anderson and Faye Hampton had prepared an outstanding program depicting all the Relief Society General Presidents from Emma Smith to the present. The stage was decorated in red, white, and blue for Bicentennial. Sonoma the Boss-hard- t, Betty Lewis, and JoLane Nelson prepared and served a tasty lunch to 60 ladies. The tables were also decorated in red, white, and blue. A special feature was the display of many articles, old and new, brought by members. Bishop Nathan Anderson was a guest. We read in last weeks Salina Sun of the students who participated in the school speech meets and placing high in both Manti and Dixie. Of the eight students who went, five were from Redmond. We are proud of our young people. We want to give honor to Doug Christensen, Steve Keifer, Janet Lund, Cheryl Jean Jensen, and Michele Spencer. Also to Karen Hales for going to the State Music Festival as a result of the Regional Festival in Enterprise, and to Collette Peterson, who was crowned F.F.A. Sweetheart, with Janet Lund as first attendant. Mrs. Alveretta Draper is a again. Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Draper became parents of a baby girl March 4th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Karol Draper. They live in Miriputtle, California and they also have a boy, Aaron. The babys name is Ann. Alveretta has 28 Mr. and Mrs. Paul Christensen and family, Salt Lake, and Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Christensen and family, Salina, were at their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Whitney Christensen, for dinner and to spend the day on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Burke Williams, Logan, are home during the spring quarter vacation from Utah State. They are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Hampton. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hampton have their granddaughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Owens, of San Diego, California, visiting all week. Mrs. Owens is a daughter of Mrs. Luella Kralka. Ryan Christensen, Salt Lake, was home for the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Christensen. Grace Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. Chad Nelson and family, Salt Lake, came down to visit their father, Hilton Nelson, and brother, Mr. and Mrs. Terrel Nelson, for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hardman, Salt Lake, and Mr. and Mrs. Brent Hansen and family, Centerfield, were at their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Evan Mickelsen, for dinner and visiting on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Blain Poulson have had a special weekend. They celebrated their birthdays jointly. Blains is on March 2nd, and Ruby's is on April 8th. Their children honored them. They had dinner Saturday, March 20th, at the Legion Hall. Mi. and Mrs. Gail Heath and family and their son, Randy, from Utah State and his fiancee, Lainie Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Poulson and family, Granger, Mr. and Mrs. Gerritt Poulson and family, Woods Cross; their brothers sisters. Jewel and and Bessie Poulson, Wallace and Arnelda Poulson, Rulon and Ilene Mansfield, Orem, Ray Colby, Gunnison, Champ and Mary Meier, Richfield, Mrs. Helen Proctor, Magna, Tom and Maude Schneit-teSalt Lake, and a niece, Mrs. Karen Kaye and four daughters, Mona. They had all their grand- r, children with them except Russell and Mavis Heath, who are with the Army in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Olsen, Granger, stayed overnight Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hales. They had been down for the funeral of his mother, Hazel Goodman. Mr. Paul Ball, of Salina, and Mrs. Lila Fleming, of Gunnison, wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Shirlene, to Ronald G. Camp, son of Mr. and Mrs. Val Camp, of Sigurd. The couple is planning a May 14th wedding in the Manti Temple. Shirlene is a 1970 graduate of Gunnison Valley High School. She attended Utah Technical College of Provo for one year. Ron is a 1969 graduate of Richfield High School. He attended Utah Technical College for one year. He served an L.D.S. Mission to Kentucky and served in the United States Marine Parcel Corps for two years. Ron is currently employed by United Service in Salina. They plan to make their home in Richfield. Mrs. Fred Nelson observed her birthday Wednesday, March 10th.
