Commissioner Dean Nielsen moved to allow County officials $125.00 each to cover expenses to attend the annual County Convention to be held in Salt Lake City March 26th, 27th, and 28th. The County will pay the registration. This motion was seconded by Commissioner David Urie, earned unanimously. Commissioner David Urie moved to approve the minutes of the last meeting held March 5th, 1975, as amended. This was seconded by Commissioner Dean Nielsen, carried unanimously. The amendment clarified the minutes in relation to County Manpower employees who were changed from an hourly to a monthly basis. These are: Elda Tasker, Deputy Treasurer, $400.00 per month; Reta Mecham, Deputy Assessor, $400.00 per month; Marla Biffath, secretary of the J.P. of the South Precinct, $400.00 per month; Kathleen Mason, secretary of the J.P. of the North Precinct, $400.00 per month; Fred Gibb to work at the Fairgrounds, $400.00 per mo.; and Creg Conder to work for the at County Road Department S600.00 per month. Commissioner Dean Nielsen moved and Commissioner David Urie seconded the motion, carried unanimously, the purchase of an automobile for the Sheriffs Department as authorized in the Sheriffs budget. Bids on auto were reviewed from standpoint of price, type of unit, and other relevant considerations. The bid from Whiting Motor, for an Oldsmobile 88 at $4,289.00 was considered to be the best bid and was approved. The Commission set 3 00 P.M. on the next meeting date, (April 7, 1975), to meet with the Salina City officials to re fines and forfeitures in question. This is to be the last appointment of the day. The Commission noted that Charmayne Fillmore was inadvertently omitted from the salary increase. Commissioner Dean Nielsen made the motion that her hourly rate be increased from $2.75 to $3.00. This motion was seconded by Commissioner David Urie, and was carried unanimously. On motion of Commissioner David Urie, seconded by Commissioner Dean Nielsen, the Commission unanimously deter mined to work with the Manpower Program to find someone to review Commissioners minutes of the last few decades with the purpose of extracting therefrom and compiling all county ordinances. Local government officials, officials from the BLM, the Forest Service, the F.H A the Commissioner Organization and the Employment Security met with the Commission to explore a proposed Power Project in Wayne County near Canevtlle. They discussed , the nature of the plant and facilities, participants, impact on local communities and associated problems. Utah; Dick Burt, Isbell, Richfield, Employment Security; Ralph Cisco, Richfield, U S. Forest Service; Clyde Richfield, FmHA; Hemmert, K L. Mdff, County Courthouse, Sevier County Attorney; Dean C. Nielsen, County Courthouse, Sevier County Commissioner; Ivan Mills, County Courthouse, Sevier County Commissioner; David Urie, County Courthouse, Sevier County Commissioner; Wavne Foltz, Richfield, U.S. Forest Service; Hale Hubbard, Richfield, U.S. Forest Service; Bobby Carter, Richfield, Utah State Forestry; and Dee J. Williamson, Richfield, BLM. The Commission directed the Clerk to obtain liability coverage on a new county truck. A Building Permit for a home was approved for Bronzel Pickett, of Redmond. Additional interviews were conducted and on motion of Commissioner cont. from page , io, rage t Legion Birthday Party Proves Big Success The Salina American Legion 57th Birthday Celebration was a huge success with a buffet dinner being served to over 100 people. The Legion honored World War I veterans and widows of World War I veterans, and Gold Star Mothers. Vk A World War I veterans in attendance were: Harry Thor-se- n, 7. Conway Wilkes, and Lyle McDonald. Gold Star Mothers able to attend were: Lera Crane and Leona Jensen. Mrs. Crane and Mrs. Jensen were presented a beautiful bracelet in ' 1 Mike Hansen Natalie Sorensen remembrance. The North Sevier FFA attended the State FFA Convention last Friday and Saturday in Salt Lake. Pat Robins and Mike Hansen were presented their State Farmer degrees. In order to win this, a boy must have an agrisupervised outstanding culture program in farming or and must show a lot of leadership ability. Natalie Sorensen represented the Chapter at the State Sweetheart Pageant and placed in the top 10 finalists. A very enjoyable program was presented by the Thressa Rasmussen singing group. Warren Jensen was the Master of Ceremonies for the evening. Douglas Christensen, of Redmond, presented his oratorical speech, which won him third place at the State Meet. Lucky winners of the two quilts given away were Grace Lambertsen and Sharon Springer. After dinner, dancing was enjoyed, with the music rendered by the Footwarmers, of Sterling, Utah.
