Her father was the first D&RG Station Agent in Gunnison, and a prominent farmer for many Ruby years. Gilbert and Ruby grew up in Centerfield. Their romance began while they were playing in At the a dance orchestra. same time, he was director of the Centerfield Ward Choir and she was the organist. When the World War I was declared, Gilbert was attending B.Y.U., and he left school and enlisted in the Army, where he One served for two years. year he spent in France in the 62nd Heavy Artillery C.A.C., coming home four months after the Armistice was signed. Gilbert has been active in church and civic affairs of the He served the public area. as Sanpete County Clerk and Auditor for 14 years, was appointed a member of the Sanpete County Industrial Development Committee at the time of its organization. Also, he has been active in the American Legion Post 104. He has been active in church and has held numerous positions in both Centerfield and Gunnison Wards and Gunnison Stake. He was Stake Chorister for 14 years, jind served on the Stake High Council for nine years. Presently he is High Priest Group Leader in the Gunnison Second Ward. Gilbert is a prominent insurance man in the valley, has been in the insurance business for 42 years. He owns and operates his own agency, and still travels throughout Sanpete, Sevier, Wayne and Piute Counties, servicing, selling and adjusting in his business. Ruby also has been active in church and civic organizations. She served as Gunnison Stake organist for 20 years. She has been Class Leader in Relief Society, a Gleaner leader, and other positions in Centerfield and Gunnison Wards and Gunnison Stake M.I.A. 3ie has been president of the American Legion Auxiliary and held other positions in the organization. Music has been a major part of their lives, and they have participated and enjoyed it together through the years. They have lived in Gunnison Valley all their lives, except the first six months of their married life, when they lived in San Francisco, where Gilbert was employed. The Fjeldsteds were married February 28, 1923 in the Manti LDS Temple. Well, I guess that Rosalind tried every thing she could do to retrieve the missing mail from its imprisonment at the Bank, and I heard she was last seen trying to squeeze through the slot in the night deposit box.
