Well, I didnt know that, until the other day when I heard that Marlin and spouse, Gale, along with Joe and Sharon Springer decided to get away from it all. The four of them sat very still listening to a little Crunch, It was then crunch, crunch. that Gale spotted a small, dark figure jumping in and out of their candy dish, and as they sat there, trying to figure out what it was, they came to the conclusion that it was indeed a little pack rat, busily nibbling away their precious Lets get him, whiscandy. pered Joe, and it was then they made their plan to dispose of one unwanted rodent. The plan was quite simple, Gale had the flashlight and as soon as she was given the signal, she was to switch it on the little intruder. Not when you're working with up to 345,000 volts every day. It takes four long years of and classroom training to make a lineman out of an apprentice. Utah Power & Light Company is concerned enough about a linemans safety, and your uninterrupted power supply, to make sure a man knows what hes doing when he climbs a pole. And it takes a special kind of person, with the right kind of character and personality, even to be accepted for apprenticeship. The joint Utah Power & Light Company and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers apprentice pool committee makes sure of that. They have as much at stake in this as we do. So we work together. After 4 years of electrical theory in the classroom and electric reality on the job, an apprentice has to pass a demanding test, written and practical. Why make it so difficult? Like we said before, Utah Power You off on-the-j- ob , & Light is concerned, for his safety and your service. We want to make sure of both. The Folks at Utah Power & Light Co.
