Political Pot Near Boiling As Candidates Ready Final Pleas Bicknell Leader General Election is only 12 days away on November 3rd and candidates for both political parties are busy in an effort to convince voters why they should cast their ballots one way or the other. They know and appreciate the necessity of strength in order to avert the holocausts of World Wars I and II particularly In the age of nuclear warfare. We are greatly alarmed by the weakening of our national defense position by the actions of certain members of Congress who have delayed and blocked the Presidents programs for strengthening our defensive capabilities and an orderly withdrawal from Southeast Asia from a position of strength. In support of his statement, Rampton referred to a report by the prestigious American Security Council which indicates that Russia now has nearly triple the nuclear missile megatonnage than the United States and quotes The the Councils statement, United States is now second in Strategic Military Power. Most Americans believe we should try harder. But a large coalition of Senators and Congressmen is trying to reduce our strength further. The American Security Coun- cil report shows Congressman Burtons record as 100 in the National Security Index while Senator Moss is shown with a rating of 10. We Rampton further stated, will do everything possible to bring this matter to the attention of the voters of this state. An honest effort should be made to overhaul the traditional curriculum. Both research and practice have made us aware of the inconsistency between the lock-ste- p educational system and the facts about human variability. It is a well known fact that students differ in all aspects of their personalities, socially, physically, emotionally, intellectually and in their readiness to learn. To bettercope with this, more attention should be given to a continuous program of indistated vidualized Instruction, Mr. Lee. Proceeds will be used for ther Explorer projects. fur- FIIF Awards Contract For Monroe Trail The Fishlake National Forest announced the award of a contract to Graville and Pope for construction of the Monroe Forks Loop Trail. All Red Cross disaster assistance (which totaled over $3,000.00 during the Salina floods of 1970) is an outright gift to the recipient, never a loan, stated Mr. Shepherd. It is extended in three phases; first, emergency mass care in the form of food, shelter, clothing, nursing and medical assistance; second, stop gap aid in the form of grocery and clothing orders and temporary housing for homeless families; finally, planning with individual families to give them rebuilding help that will enable them to return to normal living, he stated.
