The following lost to the Rams: Steve Ames, a ninth grader pinned Robinson but was on the heavy side and lost by a forfeit. Steve will have to leave the jam sandwiches alone for a while. Mecham in the 165 lb. class talked Dean Selack into a double arm bar and rode it to a pin. Dean, a senior, will have to pay the price and get in shape. Either that or buy a better grade of gas. He ran out. Junior Kurt Poulson had a toughie and lost to Small Canyon of the Rams. Kurt seemed to run out of gas but this lad will develop into a sharpie when he gets the experience. Kurt should get even. The kids did well but are far from the best. We have plenty of work ahead and the fellows know this if they want to be consistent winners. They are working hard and so this is the first round and still a long way to go. Our matches this year will be in the evenings. Utah Power & Light Co. The wrestling wolf pack from North Sevier is at It again. The 1968-6- 9 season is under way. The outlook for the coming season is good. This parcel of fellows are more than ready to express themselves each Thursday night on the mats. Thursday the Wolves from North Sevier hosted the Rams from South Sevier in a Region Seven contest. The Wolves won the match by defeating the Rams 41 to 13. Led by Captain Rocky Nelson the Wolves are coming to wrestle this year. Perhaps we will lose some this year but If you come out to see them you are in for some real fun. Winning for the Wolves against South Sevier were the following: In our 103 lb. class Phillip Baker, as a ninth grader started his wrestling career by pinning McIntosh in the first round. His brothers Ralph and Sheryl have taught him well. Captain Rocky, a senior, using an inside outer moved to a takedown and soon put a stopper on Washburn in the first round. Seems the fellows each year always pick a fine captain. Randy Crane wrestling in the 1 20 lb. weight started the seasons with a decision over Esplin. Crane did everything but turn his opponent inside out but had to settle for a decision 13-- 0. Ralph Baker in the 133 lb. class was pushed to the limit by Taylor, but with savvy and finesse he won by a score 0.
