S)C0TIN 1 t !? Sports Call by Track The Wolves from North Sevier placed fifth in the Region Nine meet. They placed men in the shot and javelin, and third in the 880 relay. This year, the Wolves were in the building stage, and should field a fine team in the future. The balance of the track team consisted of Sophomores and Juniors. Junior Pentathlon North Sexier, under the direction of Coach Sorenson, competed in the district Junior Pentathlon meet at Salina, and walked away with the majority of the places. Brent Wilson won the Junior Division, and earned a beautiful trophy. Myron Mickelson of the Junior High, was second, and Mont Turner of Wayne, won the third spot. In the Senior Division, all places, went to students of North Sevier High. Jimmy Veater won the trophy by winning first place. Kent Christensen won second, and Dennis Crane, took third. This is always a treat, for the younger fellows, and is a good starter for developing track stars. In the Junior Pentathlon, the youngster has to compete in five events, Broad jump, high jump, sprints, shot and the basketball throws, are the events they participate in. Ord, California training base, following an illness and an hospitalization. Pvt. Shepherd enlisted in the National Guard at Richfield on January 27, 1962, for a training. His orders are to report at the California base on May 17th, to complete enlistment.
