Show THE DESERET KEWf, SATURDAY NOVEMBER So TSn a . 1923 IPflais v DAY of Thanksgiving meant to our pilgrim fathers a day of prayer, when one could pour out ones heart in gratitude for all the good things that a Kind Providence had brought them. It took a courageous and a simple faith to make possible the first Thanksgiving. We should be thank-fu- l for these men and women who came to America and led the way for our great nation of todayT and other institutions which add to our spiritual and mental growth. Thankful that our lot is cast among good, people with high ideals, who are industrious and enterprising. Thankful for the peace and harmony that prevails among our citizens. Thankful for modem conveniences and inventions that permit of many comforts in our homes and makes pos- We should also be thankful for our pioneers who made possible this great state of ours. We are thankful for the courage, the high ideals of our pioneer parents. Thankful for the foundation they built for peace, prosperity and happiness, all of which we enjoy today. Thankful for the progress which has made possible the comforts we enjoy. Thankful that it has been possible to change the desert lands o productive fields, orchards and gardens. Thankful for our health and the power to do. Thankful for freedom and for safety and the opportunity to worship God. Thankful for the affection of those who love us, and whom we love, and for companionship of friends.
