These officials of the various counties of UtaK have been together for the interchange of ideas, the formulation of plans and mutual helpfulness. Among the Branches ol Work Entrusted to the Care of These County Officials are the Following 9 Equalization of taxes. The correction of any inequalities in the tax assessment system. . Maintenance of high standards in g and accounting, so that public funds will be safeguarded faithfully and effectively. Collection of all moneys due the various units represented. Preparation of budgets in such a way that the 'financial safety and sta- This association comprises in its membership some of the foremost men of our commonwealth. That they are men of ability and integrity is attested by the fact that their fellow citizens have entrusted them with some of the most important and vital responsibilities and duties in the public service. In coming together to discuss ways and means of improving present methods and in- book-keepin- ' creasing the efficiency and usefulness of their work, these men are following the commendable example of all great modem organizations, financial, industrial, commercial, educational, and, indeed, organizations of every type in which economy and efficiency are held as paramount aims. By the exchange of experiences and opinions, these servants of the people are enabled to give better, more helpful service in the important lines of activity over which they have jurisdiction. They have the vital responsibility of raising, safeguarding and distributing the public funds. The success with which they fulfill this important duty is reflected through all branches of public government and activity.
