City Auditor Keddington, who is a member of the budget board, pointed out that a reduction of three-tent- hs of a mill In the tax levy would care for all ments and leave a surplus of more than 16.000. Mr. Keddington said he was in favor of this reduction provided other taxing! units would agree not to absorb it by increasing their levy. The cut, he contended, could be made with perfect safety to the city's frnancial condition and give each ample funds to carry on its regular work.
