This week birthday wishes go to Carrie Lee Rathbone, Bran- Dedicate Monument DUPs Central company from the North Box Elder County rock monudedicated a n ment at Elwood, Monday. It is the 400th monument erected by the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Located near the intersection of and Highway 30, it tells the story of the 1853 crossing of the Bear River at Boise Ford. The ford was where the first traders crossed to go to Boise and up to Oregon. Apparently, one of the early traders carved the date on the rock in the river. West Corinne ladies who attended the dedication were Della Owens, Lila Wright, Olive Fillmore, Stella Fosgren, Mary Smoot, Alice Norman and Pauline ODell. A.V. A new cook, Kathy Hall of Bear River, has been named unit manager for the school lunch program. She replaces Sandy Roundy who has taken a similar position at the McKinley school in Tremonton. The students at the school are in for a treat today when the A new famous Dee Burger Clown arrives to present an entertaining program. The fifth and sixth grades went on a field trip Wednesday to Cutler Dam and enjoyed a fun and informative day. The schools annual Book Fair will be held Oct. There will be a variety of books for all ages available to order and buy. These books, which make excellent Christmas gifts, will be on display in the library. Parents are encouraged to come and look at the books available. A good time to view the material on display would conbe during parent-teache- r ferences which will be held on the Oct 27 and 28. Sympathy is extended to the Booth family on the death of their husband and father Ray Booth who died following an extended illness. Winning spots on the November ballot for the Peoples party were Boyd Gardner, mayor; and Steve Johnson and D. Frank Tolman as councilmen. The top contenders on the Citizens ticket are Boyd Gardner, mayor; and Alt Hunsaker and Bill Hunsaker, councilmen. Iris Anderson and Jan have also applied for position as town secretary. That position is currently held by Paul Orme. Things are busy as usual at the Honeyville school this week.
