The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Red Baron restaurant, with an invitation extended to anyone who is interested either in the schools or in League membership to attend. Mrs. Dalton will be a special guest at the luncheon meeting, according to LWV President Marjorie Childs. The League of Women Voters of Brigham City has a longstanding interest in the county schools and has studied curriculum, policy and finances through the years. Those present at the luncheon will have the opportunity to ask questions of the superintendent, who took over duties this past summer. Reservations for the luncheon should be made by Thursday, Oct. 13, by calling either Mrs. UP DU food family women social Couple exchanges vows Mr. and Mrs. Arland Tingey of Mantua announce the recent marriage of their daughter Terri to Gary Owens, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Owens of Hyrum. The couple exchanged wedding vows on Sept. 3 in Elko, Nev. They were honored at a reception on Sept. 23 in the Mantua LDS ward cultural hall. A simple white gown of bridal satin was worn by the bride. It was styled with a wristlength sleeves, and an empire waistline with the skirt falling to a graceful chapel train in the rear. Her veil of bridal illusion was held by a fabric flower cap set with rhinestones. The gown and veil were made by the mother of the bride. She carried a bouquet of pink and salmon carnations nestled into dried white flowers and greenery. Autumn is time for the traditional Welcome Wagon Newcomers club fashion show, with this years social highlight set for Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Sherwood Hills. However, the annual style show will divert from the traditional this year with a brunch buffet from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. followed by the fashion show beginning at 12 noon. Blocks of Brigham City will again provide the fashions for the show, with their own professional models showing the latest in fall and winter styles for daytime and evening. In addition, Newcomers club members will model their homesewn creations and there will be light moments of music and comedy included. Music and entertainment for the event are being planned by i. She Retires Mr. and Mrs. Bert (LaVonne) Reeve will have plenty of time to travel and fish now. She took an early retirement on Septem- ber 30 after working for 15 years diviat the sion. Prior to her retirement, on Thiokol-Clearfiel- d September 27, they presented her with a 15 year service bracelet. This is the Thiokol gold bracelet with three rubies, one for each five years. Her fellow employees gave her a retirement party in the conference room at the plant where they presented her with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a blouse. First place they went followher reitrement was to take a ing trip to Boise to visit with their son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Arland (Elaine) Saunders and family. The Saunders had just moved to Boise six weeks ago from Cupertino, Calif. Arland is project manager for the Hewett Packer Company, Boise Division. They were so happy to be on hand for the confirmation of their granddaughter, Christine Saunders. Old friends, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Plummer of Lake of the Ozards, Missouri spent four days here. They were touring the country by Amtrak and spent some time with their friends here in Brigham City. Prior to the Plummer's visit Bales parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Boyland of Apache Junction, Ariz., visited with them for four days. They took each set of company to their cabin at Sweetwater, Bear Lake for a weekend. Right now the Bales are looking forward to a visit from their daughter Garen Bales of Portland, Ore., who is p m. There'll be a good selection of appliances, toys, household items, and clothing on sale along with the miscellaneous items so popular with rummage and garage sale fans. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Eric Seashore of Brigham City. The bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. S.R. Tillisch of Mankato, Minn. Prior to the wedding the bridegrooms parents hosted a dinner at the Orient Express in Whitefish, Mont. The couple was honored at an informal reception at the Kiwa-ni- s Lodge at Bitterroot Lake, Mont'., following the wedding rites. A hand embroidered dress with a flowered skirt was worn by the bride, and she carried a bouquet of wildflowers. Leonard Dalton Dr. Wedding unites couple planning to be home for ten days. They Travel Mr. and Mrs. George Church and their children, Mathew, Terri, and Joseph spent a delightful weekend in Yellowstone Park at the Old Faithful Lodge. The leaves were beautiful Mrs. Church said and an early snowstorm made it very cozy to sit by the open fireplace. The Churchs will be leaving soon to attend a Superintendents National Conference at the Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. Church is the superintendent of the Golden Spike Site. While they are gone, her mother, Mrs. Verna Dorsett of Minneapolis, Minn., and an aunt, Mrs. Glenis Amana and her sister Marjorie Minarik will be here to take care of their chidlren. Briefing You It was a big day for Joe Levinthal last Friday when he celebrated his sixth birthday with a party at the family home. Classmates of Joe who came to play games and eat (he tradi-- , tional cake and were: Russell Menlove, Rocky Howes, Jeremy Sheridan, Kathy Anderson, Lynette and Jay Taggart, Keith McMullen, Nicky Brant, and his sisters Edie and Cynthia and also a brother David; Cynthias friend Lynette Johnson came to help with the games. The big attraction of the party was the Big Bird cake and of course, presents. Howard Jensen of San Jose, Calif, is visiting briefly in this city with his son in law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Dale Nelson and his sister Mrs. Norma Bosley of Corinne. The couple honeymooned on a backpack trip in the Vancouver, British Columbia, area. Future plans The couple plans to make their home in Dower Draw, Mont., and will both work towards masters degrees in elementary education at Montana State college at Bozeman. He is presently employed as a counselor with the Alcoholic Service center in Kalispell, having received his BA in psychology fromMinnesota State college in Mankato, Minn. He also served in the US Army in Vietnam in 1968-7The bride is a graduate of Utah State university with a BA in liberal arts and also graduated from the Scandinavian Seminar. She received her Licensed Practical Nurse certificate after attending Utah Trade Tech in Salt Lake City. She is now employed at the Kalispell Regional hospital. CHERYL LYNN BROWN AND ROBERT W.
