Show 16 BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah 1977 21, Thursday, April Funeral held Monday for Portage native, 76 Plymouth Ponderings Father has Ogden guest by Flo Munson Mr. and Mrs. Rick Davis and children Katy, Daryn and Mar-c- y of Inkom Idaho, spent from Thursday until Sunday with her father, Laurence Archibald. Friday, Mrs. Mark (Myrna) Nielson of Ogden and Mrs. Dennis (Susan) Grey of Burley, Idaho visited Laurence. Miss Sarianne Udy had 14 little guests at her home (the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Udy) Saturday to help her celebrate her fourth birthday. They enjoyed playing games and a picnic lunch. Mrs. Paul (Penny) Marshall left Salt Lake City Sunday, by plane where she and some other employees of Continental Tele- phone Co. of the West will attend school in Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Starr visited Staff Sgt. and Mrs. Kim Starr and Jessica in Ogden Thursday. Mrs. Jay (Mary Jean) Hess visited with her daughter, Mrs. Mike (Teressa) Prince and grandson Jarvis at Layton. I'm sure grandma was getting acquainted with her new grandson. Miss Jana Sorenson of Provo spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Austin Nish. Mr. and Mrs. Larry (LaRie) e Isenbower and Miss Jamie of Ogden, were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Hess. Visiting in the afternoon with the Ellis Hess, were Mr. and Mrs. Verlin Hess and family of Riverside. The occasion was Kims birthday anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Max Kunzler of Park Valley, visited the Gardner Udys Monday evening. Mrs. Barbara Vanderhoof left Friday from Ogden, by train to return Miss Lesa Roybal, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Roybal of Elko, Nev. Barbara has been taking care of Lisa, while the Roybals son, Ryan had his tonsils removed and he recuperated. Barbara returned JSunday evening. Mrs. Ruth Stokes was hostess to Miss Cindy Hudsen and Miss Elizabeth Mitton from Ricks college. The girls were here to participate with the Ricks choir. Thursday, Mrs. Jane Udy, accompanied by Mrs. Lenare Silvester of Riverside and Mrs. Genevieve Jensen of Brigham enjoyed a dinner party at the home of Mrs. Eva Zundel of Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Lamb and children, visited Mrs. Fer-ra- l Williams at St. John, Sunday. Oldest Group The oldest group of girls in the Belmont ward APYW, were each given a trophy in sacrament meeting Sunday night for placing second at stake and first in region in the basketball tour- - nament. They were coached by Tammy Steed. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Rudd and Mrs. Opal Welling, all of Plymouth attended the wedding reception at the White House in Ogden, for Kathryn Fife, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Fife of Brigham City, and Paul Damon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Damon of Brigham City. Mrs. Pam Bell, Mrs. Carol Hess, Plymouth, Miss Kristy Scott, Fielding, and Miss Debbie Bell of Portage, all watched the Junior Promonade Saturday evening at the Bear River High school. Mrs. Kenny (Annette) Adams and son Kip of Bear River City spent Sunday with her mother, Mrs. Wayne (Lapriel) Secrist, while their husbands were away on business. Mr. and Mrs. DeVere Hess of Plymouth and Mr. and Mrs. Don Scott of Fielding attended the promonade at the Junior Prom at the Bear River High school Saturday evening, then enjoyed dinner at the Golden Spike in Corinne. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Hess and son Gomer attended sacrament meeting at Curlew ward Sunday evening, where their two little granddaughter, (daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brent (Debra) Stokes participated in the Primary program. Mr. and Mrs. Mont Archibald were in Ogden on business Saturday. One day last week, Russell Pierson accompanied by his mother Mrs. Earl (Grace) Pierson, and grandmother, Mrs. Jasper (Ethel) Rudd, drove to Centerville, where Ethel stayed to visit with her daughter Mrs. Marlene Pingle, while Russell and Grace went on to Bountiful to Mrs. Sonjia Woodruffs. Sonjia drove them to Salt Lake to do some shopping for Perry a, daughter Sunday, after they spent the weekend with the Lamont Wakely. Terry Lynn and Jamie Udy of Garland spent the weekend with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Udy of Plymouth while their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Ray Udy are in Nevada. Wednesday, Mrs. Jane Udy, visited Thelma Oberg at Brigham City and Mrs. Lola Hess at Deweyville. Harris. Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Morris and their entire family met with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Morris of Garland and worked on the construction of their new home. sister-- in-law, Charles Frank Hall, 76, of Ogden died at the St. Benedicts 15 hospital April after a short illness. He was born in Portage, a son Charles of . and Katherine children, four three brothers and two sisters, C.A. (Bud) Hall of Hopkinsville, Ky.; Ellery Hall, Garland; Arnold Hall, Brigham City; Mrs. Cora McCrary, Ogden; and Mrs. Ora H. (Geneva) John, Portage. Funeral services were held Monday at the Benson Mortuary in Malad. Burial was in the Malad City cemetery. Phil R. and Freda Henrie Harris are parents of a baby girl born April 16 at the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City, their fifth child. Their other children are Janet, Jennifer, Bradley and Natalie. Grandparents are Mrs. Pheobe Henrie of Tremonton and Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Harris, Portage. Ohio call goes to BC W. ARnoid Hall, on Oct. 14, 1900. He was married to Ida Ripley Forsberg in 1946, he is survived by his widow; two stepsons and one stepdaughter, 11 grand Marjean Goodwin . . farewell Sunday sister Marjean Goodwin will be honored Sunday, April 24 in the Brigham City 17th ward sacrament meeting prior to her leaving for the Ohio Columbus Mission for the L.D.S. Gibbs were among those who attended the wedding ceremony which united Sherman Richins and Miss Julie Kay Gibbs in the Ogden LDS temple Friday. They also attended the wedding breakfast in honor of the couple at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Richins of Riverside. Mr. and Mrs. E.T. Hoskins visited at the Sunshine Terrace Nursing home in Logan with Mrs. Clara Hoskins and at the Morris H. and Lori Harris. Vera R. Morris was the narrator and E. Wynn John presented a talk, The Importance of Music in the Church. The choir members sang 14 numbers. Choir members participating were: E. Wynn John, Miller Follis, Bishop Douglas J. Gibbs, Glen Morris, Joe Morris, Ruth Neal, Velda G. Harris, Fern H. Hall, Thelma D. Gibbs, Ora K. Hoskins, Karen Follis, Elma J. Bell, Faye H. Morris and Lori Harris. Maurine H. Gibbs and Geneva H. John made preparations but were unavoidably detained. The event was a very outstanding performance. Raymond Hall of Cedar City arrived at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell C. Hall Thursday for a visit and a business trip to this area. Mr. and Mrs. Hall and son were overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Turley and daughter of Salt Lake City Tuesday. Katie Lewis of St. John visited Friday afternoon with Maude Spent Weekend There The grandparents all spent the weekend at the Harris home in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Henrie is spending the week there and the Harris will spend next week Marjean is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bryce Goodwin of 255 North Ninth East. She will enter the mission home on May 7. Pioneer Memorial Nursing home in Brigham City with Deon Roderick Wednesday. Many people of this community attended funeral services for Frank Hall at Malad Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Thomas and family of Green River, Wyo., are visiting with Reeds parents, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Thomas while Reed is recuperating after back surgery performed April 11 at the hospital in Brigham City. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin John and family of Vernal spent last weekend visiting with Marvins parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Wynn John and family. Regional Meetings Elder Devere Harris met with stake presidents at Sun Valley, Twin Falls and Jerome Sunday for interim meetings as regional representative. Mr. and Mrs. Maruice Thomas and Mrs. Laura K. Gibbs went to Brigham City Wednesday to see their new baby the granddaughter, which is Mrs. first daughter of Mr. and Dale Thomas. They have three sons. Mrs. Thomas and Mrs. Gibbs remained there until Friday caring for the children. Mr. and Mrs. Devere Harris and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Morris enjoyed a dinner party at Maddox Saturday evening. Mrs. E. Wynn John and e daughters, Mary Ann and visited Saturday at Logan with their daughter and sister, Marlene John. Mr. and Mrs. Tasman Gibbs of Moreland, Idaho were overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ellery Hall of Garland Sunday. AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY . sr L m m 1 k' The Perry school PTA would like to remind all parents of children who will be attending kindergarten next year that the round-uwill be held next Wednesday, April 27 from 11:15 to 11:45 a.m. Parents and children will meet in the kindergarten room where they will be greeted by the kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Ilene Tucker. Also there to visit with the children will be the speech and hearing specialist and public health nurse. The public health nurse will also be available following the round-uto give immunizations to the young boys and girls who need them at this time. Parents are reminded to bring their childs birth certificates and immunization records with them. pre-scho- pre-scho- p p chairman, Mrs. attending kindergarten next Went Vacationing Joe and Wanda Sebek were joined by their daughter and granddaughter of Salt Lake for a delightful two weeks vacation which took them to Nebraska to visit their other daughter, and granddaughter, also other family members. Joe and Wanda were joined by Joan Nielsen and daughter Jennifer, Micheele and Katherine and traveled by auto to Norfolk, Neb. where they stopped to visit Mr. and Mrs. Keen (Susan) Lerch and daughter Kim. While there they also traveled to Howells, where they spent time visiting with Joes mother, Mrs. Anna Mchalek and his brother and sisters who also live in the area. They attended a family gathering on Easter Sunday and enjoyed renewing many old acquaintances. While they were there Joan also enjoyed doing some genealogy and getting a life story of her grandmother. They arrived home on Sunday. Last Tuesday evening eight very outstanding roadshows were performed for the members of the Perry First and Perry Second wards. Kelly Nelson acted as master of ceremonies and introduced shows from the various wards of the Brigham City South stake. Perry First was intitled The Joys of Genealogy and held a cast of over 40 young members of the ward. Youth director of e the production was Peter and he was assisted by Scott Nelson. Several Awards The Perry Second ward was awarded best acting, best scenery, tied for best costumes and make-u- p and best all around roadshow. We would like to congratulate all these youth for their very fine productions and the hours of work they put into making them such. A very special day is coming up on April 30 when the Perry school fathers and sons will be holding their outing. The day will begin with some work on the new playground, lunch and then a father and son ball game. Keep this date in mind and plan on attending for a real fun day. Falk, son of Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne H. Thursday, Mrs. Nadine Lamb, accompanied by son Ronald and Mrs. Nonda Thorpe and daughters Jennifer and Natalie of Honeyville, took Ronald to Bancroft to spend his spring vacation. Mrs. Verna Wakely and children came back to Plymouth with them to spend a few days. Linda Lamb and friend Sas-bcame home Thursday evening from Salt Lake to spend sometime with the Vernon Lambs. All of the above but Ronald went to Tremonton and Logan Friday. Friday evening the Wakelys, Linda and Sasba, returned to Bancroft. Vernon and Nadine Lamb visited in Bancroft Saturday, Linda Lamb and Sasba came home Saturday and returned to Salt Lake that evening. Ronald returned home with Mr. and Mrs. Tim Thorpe and week with her brother and Mr. and Mrs. Chester P. Neal.
