Show s BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah 10 elder returns, will talk BC Thursday, March 24, 1977 Fielding Flashes by Flo Munson The Future Progress guild held its annual birthday club party along with their partners at Chases Charcoal Dinner House in Tremonton Saturday evening with Mrs. RaEtta Jones as chairman. A dinner was served to approximately 50. A decorated birthday cake was on display and was won by Thayne Jones. The Future Progress guild will hold its annual spring fashion show at the Classic Shop in Tremonton April 21 with Mrs. Eleanor Petersen, Mrs. Julie Wood, Mrs. Janet Garn as hostesses and Mrs. Judy Smith as chairman. Club members as well as younger girls will model the latest fashions for spring and summer. Election of officers for the coming year is also on the agenda. Friends and relatives of Mrs. Edith Welling who recently underwent heart surgery at the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City will be happy to know Mrs. Welling has now been moved into a private room at the hospital and is in a much better condition than was anticipated last week. Visiting her during the past week were her daughter Miss Enid Welling of Seattle who has been staying at the family home in Fielding for quite sometime and Mr. and Mrs. John McClellan. Enid Welling left Monday for her home in Seattle. Pat McClellan of Albany, Calif., who has been with his grandmother since she was admitted into the hospital, left Saturday for his home in Albany. Miss Cindy Petersen spent Mrs. Effie Potter accompanied by her daughter Mrs. Arlene Anderson of Ogden spent Wednesday in Salt Lake City where they enjoyed dinner in the Tiffin Room at ZCMI. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George C. Atkins, former residents of Fielding. The bride is the daughter of Mayor and Mrs. Eldon Griffen of Garland. She was born Sept. 13, 1900, in Honeyville, a daughter of George T. and Permilla Boothe Rogers. She was married to LeRoy Oyler on April 23, 1919, in the Salt Lake LDS temple. He died July 4, 1970. She was reared and educated in Bear River valley. She was a member of the Garland East LDS ward and had served as chorister, Relief society president. Primary president and teacher. She had been a member of the Bear River Stake Relief Society board, YWMIA teacher and had received an honorary Golden Gleaner award. She had been a Sunday school teacher.
