Playing with the advance group will be the junior high orchestra which is directed by Mrs. Chambers. This will add wind instruments to give a full symphony quality to the concert. (See front page story.) - SIDE ORDERS The fifth annual spring concert of elementary school string instrument students and the Box Elder Junior High orchestra is scheduled May 4, according to Director Linda Chambers. It will be presented in the Box Elder High school auditorium beginning at 3:30 p.m. Involved will be 55 students in the beginning strings program at local area grade schools, plus about 50 others in the advanced program taught by Mrs. Chambers. They play violins, violas, cellos and bass. An additional feature of this years program will be appearance of the Central school choir singing Let There Be Peace on Earth. Elementary schools taking part in the strings program are Bear River City, Bunderson, Central, Foothill, Lake View, Mountain View, Lincoln, Willard and Perry. She labored in Basel and Zurich. She lived in the Brigham City Fourteenth ward in the early 60s until the family was transferred to Huntsville, Ala. Six years later, another transfer took the family back to the Seattle, Wash., area where they had lived before moving to Brigham City in 1960. There Karen graduated from the Renton, Wash. High school. She attended and graduated from Ricks college, then worked a year prior to receiving her mission call from the Renton Third ward. Her family recently moved back to Brigham City and reside at 324 South First East. This fall Karen will go to the Brigham Young university to continue her education. She will report on her mission in the Brigham City Sixth ward on Sunday, April 20, at 4:30 p.m. The chapel is located at 506 South Second East.
