Show to over 40 guests. Corinne Comments New grandchild highlights news J. Young by Diane Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jones were blessed with their sixth grandchild on New Years day. He was a nine pound 12 ounce baby boy, the first child born to Mr. and Mrs. Terry Jones. Terry is now serving in the Army as a second lieutenant stationed at Fort Bragg, N. C. They plan to name the child Tyler Breton. The other grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ed Cox from Bountiful. The child also has two Mr. and Mrs. Cox of Fairview. Rebecca Smoot, daughter of Bob and Karen Smoot, was blessed last Sunday by her father. Assisting him were two grandfathers, Milton Johnson from Tremonton and A. V. Smoot, a home teacher, Vern Filmore, and the bishopric, Maurice Norman, Royal Carter, and Neil Harper. All fathers of grade school s, children from kindergarten through sixth grade should keep Friday, Jan. 18 open for the father and son night sponsored by the Corinne school PTA. They plan to play games, show films, and have a delicious supper. Postpone Meetings Corinne Both the and the Daughters of Utah Pioneers have decided to postpone their meetings this month until further notice because of the weather. For the Fruitvale chapter this will be the meeting scheduled on Jan. 14. Gathering at the Pack Hatch home during Christmas day for the traditional family get together was Mr. and Mrs. Odell Hatch and children Jeff, Fruitvale of chapters Charlene, Theresa, Tyler, Trudy, and Ryan from Clearfield; Mr. and Mrs. Chris Pella and son Brian from Logan; Miss Kathy Johnson from Maryland; Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Bywater and children Linda, Larry, Doug and Charilyn; Mr. and Mrs. Leon Jensen and children Brenda, Cheryl, and Jason; Mr.' and Mrs. Andy Anderson and son Jerry; Mr. and Mrs. James Mornaka all from Brigham; Mrs. Dee from Selman (Marion) Deweyville; Mrs. Amos Hatch and children Curtis, Judy, Randy, Patti, Brad, and Denton from Corinne. (Amos was unable to attend due to illness). A delightful day was spent visiting and exchanging gifts. Delicious refreshments were served by Mrs. Hatch. Family Party The family of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Carter held its family Christmas party at the church on Christmas night. Those attending the gay affair were Royal and Elaine Norman and family, Maurice and Alaine Carter and family, Keith and Lynette Carter and family from Kaysville, and from Clearfield Royce and Bette Carter and family, John and LaRee Carter and family, Rod and Lola Carter and family, and Bret and Marti Carter and their baby son. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jones celebrated Christmas three times this year. The first was the Sunday before Christmas when their son Richard and a friend came from Salt Lake to wish them a Merry Christmas. The second was the traditional day spent with their son David who is attending BYU. The third was after Christmas when they journeyed to Richfield to visit with their daughter, Arleen, and her husband, Wayne Anderson, and their five children, Ryan, Annette, Chriss Ann, Daren, and Julie. Last Saturday both the new and the old bishopric of Corinne second ward honored the out going clerks at a special ham dinner party held at the home of Royal Norman. Those honored were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Christianson, Mr. and Mrs. Don Reeder, and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Jeppson. Those of the former bishopric were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smoot, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Norman, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hubbard, and Mr. and Mrs. Miles Ferry. Those of the new bishopric attending were Mr. and Mrs. Royal Norman, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Carter, Mr. and Mrs. Neil Harper, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Marble (new ward clerk), Mr. and Mrs. Gary Hansen (new financial clerk), and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Anexecutive derson (new secretary). The MIA youths met at the home of Royal Norman after their annual New Year Eve party at the church. The Normans served pizza and root beer Wedding Anniversary Last Friday the family of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Carter honored them in a late celebration of their 47 wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Royal Norman, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Carter, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Carter of Kaysville, and from Clearfield Mr. and Mrs. Royce Carter, Mr. and Mrs. John Carter, and Mr. and Mrs. Rod Carter met at Maddox for a delicious supper to wish their parents a happy anniversary. Last Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Ted Burt entertained Mr. and Mrs. Chad Mitchal (a niece) and their son, Reed from Ariz. where he is Tucson, stationed while in the service. Those that were able to attend the get together were (sisters) Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Able and daughter, Julie from Garland, Mrs. Gene Wade and children, Donald, Carol, and Diane, Mrs. Grant Holmes and children, Larry, Keven, Bruce, Virginia, and Colleen all from Willard, (parents) Mr. and Mrs. P. L. Graser from Willard, (niece) Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stenigar and baby Nancy from Roy, and Ron and Lynn Burt and children Ryan and Christen. We would like to take this space to not only clear up this mishap, but to also say thank you to the town board members and spouses for their service. Mr. and Mrs. Newel Nish were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Don Nish and family in Bountiful during the week. Enjoying an evening of bowling during the week were Mr. and Mrs. Hal Mason. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Taylor of Brigham Mr. and Mrs. Dean Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Farnsworth attended a party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gayle Christensen in Tremonton former Riverside residents. Also attending the reception were Mr. and Mrs. Gary Norr and daughter Christine of Riverside, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Udy of Garland and Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Udy of Tremonton. John Allen has been receiving medical care at the Valley hospital in Tremonton this past Saturday evening.
