Young, who has taught in Box Elder county schools for 37 years, will be honored Friday night. May 19 during a reception at the Perry Elementary school multipurpose room. All her former and present students and their families are invited to the reception from 8 to 10 p.m. The Perry school PTA is sponsoring the reception to pay tribute to Mrs. Young on her teaching retirement. A short program will be presented at 8:30 p.m. Eva Adams Young was born in East Garland. She attended school in East Garland through the eighth grade and graduated from Pleasant Grove High school. She attended Brigham Young college in Logan and graduated from the Utah State university Esther H. Brown Teachings concerning various Doctrines. Friday evening at 6 p.m. is the carry in potluck dinner. It is a fellowship for the whole family. Main dish and salad or dessert is called for on the menu. . The schedule for Sunday will be the regular time. Sunday school for all ages 9:45 a.m.; morning service, 11 a.m.; eveing service, 7:30 p.m. Holy Cross Lutheran Sunday morning worship services will be at 9 a.m. with the Rev. Dale Johnson preaching. A nursery will be provided during the service. Morning Bible Study at 10 a.m. Thursday. St. Masses: weekdays - 7:30 and 9 a.m.; Saturday, 5:30 p.m. and 11 a.m.; Sunday, Holy Day, Thursday, masses, 7:30 and 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Mission classes 7:30 p.m. Friday. Girls club is planning a party for first and second grades Saturday in the Parish hall from 3 until 5 p.m. Each child is asked to bring canned fopd. They will attend the 5:30 p.m. mass after the party. Many thanks to all who helped make the CCD social and the May procession social successful by their donations and help in putting it on. Street. Members are reminded that articles of clothing and blankets for the Church World Service drive can be left in the foyer of the Community Presbyterian church through Friday, May 19. United Presbyterian Regular morning worship at 10 a.m. Dr. Roth will be with us for this Mothers Day service. Sermonette for the children and nursery is provided for the tiny tots. Music by the chancel choir. Youth group meets Sunday evening in Gillespie hall at 7:30 p.m. Regular meeting of the Session at 7 p.m. Sunday. We ask that all used clothing for the Church World Service appeal be left in the foyer of the church by May 19. These will be sorted and delivered to the pickup point in Ogden on Saturday, May 20. This is an urgent appeal. Call Lorna Ravenberg for information at Church Of Christ Services will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday May 14. The Bible classes meet for a period of interesting and informative study of the Bible. The worship service begins at 10 a.m. In the general assembly we will observe the Lord's Supper. The message this Lords day will honor our mothers. Bring your mother and be our guest. The evangelistic service will begin at 7 p.m. The midweek service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The radio program can be heard over KBUH 9:30 a.m. each Sunday. , Christian Reformed Mother's Day will be observed this Sunday, May 14. Morning worship at 10:30 a.m. Evening worship at 6:30 p.m. This will be the final Sunday for our Intermountain school students. Special recognition will be given to our seniors. Senior High Youth Night is scheduled tonight (Thursday). Senior High Youth flight s scheduled toiftght (Thursday).' OnMondayof next week we will have a church supper at 6:15 p.m., with a brief program following. The supper and program will honor Shirley Nawyn who has been our Henrys Catholic Sunday morning worship will be 9:15 a.m. in the Methodist church of Corinne, six miles west of Brigham City. The church is located on South Sixth school year. We thank Shirley for all that she has meant to us and to our community. Commencement exercises at Intermountain school are scheduled for Wednesday, May 17. The students will be leaving for their homes on the reservation the same evening. Childrens Bible classes will be concluded next Tuesday. A picnic is being planned. Assembly of God Services are held every Sunday at the War Memorial Hall, 126 East Forest street. Sunday school at 10 a.m. and worship service at 11 a.m. Sunday evening evangelistic services at 7 p.m. Bible Study on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. at 124 West Fifth South council meets this Thursday at 7 p.m. at Mrs. C.J. BC Elder Slates Service John C. Hadfield recently returned from Mexico City after serving a two-yea LDS and mission, homecoming is planned Sunday in the Brigham City Seventh ward. The testimonial will begin at 7 p.m. Elder Hadfield, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hadfield, 420 West Fourth North, served as a district leader, zone leader and as assistant to President Eran Call. Mr. and Mrs. Young moved back to Perry and in 1948, when it was so difficult to employ teachers, Mrs. Young was drafted into the school room in Perry. She has taught the primary grades there for the past 24 years. She has also instructed a kinof summer dergarten in Willard and Perry. Mrs. Young has worked in all organizations in the LDS church in many capacities. At the present time she is the Box Elder South Stake and Perry Benson will give a presentation You Can Prevent entitled, Dental Decay." She is also the UDAA education chairman and will preside over the Certification ceremony. In that ceremony, Miss Stuart be capped as a newly certified assistant. Those attending will be Millie Stuart, CDA; Mary Robinette, Halu Aoki, Billie Benson, CDA; and JoAnn Earl, UDAA third vice president. On Saturday they put out a grass fire at 820 Eliason Dr. and were also sent to a grass fire Sunday at 5:11 p.m. at First North and Sixth East. Mark Alvin Student Gains LDS Award BRC Mark Alvin Anderson, 15, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Bud Anderson of Bear River City recently received his Duty to God Award. A year ago he earned an Eagle Scout award and later an Eagle Palm. . Mark is a freshman at Box Elder High school and is active in school athletics. The climate you live affect your growth. Wakely Wakely, Funeral vices for Esther Brown were conducted Clark B. and Gayle Wakely, 306 Mountain View, died Tuesday evening at their home after an illness. She was born Jan. 17, 1972, in Brigham City. Parents are members of the Brigham City Seventeenth LDS Ward. Survivors include her parents and three brothers, Scott Clark, Troy Earl, Jody Neil, all of Brigham City; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Neil Thorpe of Residents LDS FUNERAL daughter attended a session at the new Ogden LDS temple Friday afterwhich they visited Mrs. Lovinnie Holt in the Weber County hospital in Roy. Jana Rae Garrett of Brigham City accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Jack Garrett and daughter Sherry of Logan and Dixie, Michael and Kirsty King of Fielding to Salt Lake City Saturday to attend the David Cassidy show in the Salt Palace. Visiting Mrs. Jesse Holt in Brigham City is her son and Mr. and Mrs. daughter-in-laRobert Holt and family of St. George. Other Sunday guests were Mr. and Mrs. Glade Timothy of Garland. Mrs. Irene Shuman of volunteer worker the past Laides Missionary - HOMECOMING Aldersgate Methodist Mrs. Esther Hill Reeve Brown, 84, Brigham City, died Sunday in Mendon of natural causes. She was born Oct. 25, 1887, in Ogden, a daughter of Albert George and Alice Rebecca Hill Reeve. She was reared and educated in Ogden. She was married to Charles Thomas Brown on Oct. 7, 1915, in the Salt Lake LDS temple. He died in April of 1956. She resided all her married life in Brigham City. She had worked for Mountain State Telephone company as a telephone operator. She was a member of the LDS church in which she had worked in Relief society, Sunday school and primary. She was also a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Surviving are one son and one Charles Reeve daughter, Brown, Doris Brown, both of Brigham City; four grandchildren and one great grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Erma Smith, Salt Lake City; Mrs. John (Jessie) Seamon, Ogden. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Olsen Funeral chapel, Second North and Main. Burial was in Brigham City cemetery. Mrs. Young began teaching In in East Garland.
