They spent a week there. Bruce Rader, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rader, attends BYU in Provo. He did not spend the vacation time with the family group. Mrs. Leone Higgins and children Julie, Scott and Melodie of Page Ariz., were recent visitors here. They traveled here by car to spend their Easter vacation with their grandparents Mr. and , Mrs. Less Rader. They arrived here to join them and cousins for a funfilled weekend. Little Mountain in West Corinne was the spot picked for an Eastering picnic. Mrs. Donna Ward and children of Riverside joined Mrs. Rader, Leone Higgins and children for a most happy afternoon on Monday. Climbing the hills, gathering rocks and the lunch provided the cousins with an adventurous outing. - Mrs. Higgins and children left for their home in Arizona on Tuesday. News of conference visitors, travelers and Easter vacations are still holding the limelite here. Flying here from their home in Kingman, Ariz. were Mr. and Mrs. Louis (Barbara) Sorenson and children Mike and Lisa. They arrived here to attend the wedding reception of Barbaras brother Robert Henry and Lareen Duncan. The couple were married in the LDS temple in Logan March 31. A reception was held in their honor in the Bear River cultural hall that evening. The Sorensons were met at the airport in Salt Lake City by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Guy Henry on Friday evening. They spent the weekend at the Henrys home returning home by plane on Sunday. Paul and Marsha Christiansen and children motored to Gunnison for the Easter holiday. They visited with Marshas parents Mr. and Mrs. Ray Taylor. The children Pauline, David and Karen spent a most happy time with the Taylors. The Christiansens divided their visiting time during the holiday with Paul's parents Mr. and Mrs. Reed Christiansen in Celebrates Birthday Celebrating a birthday the end of March was Joyce Wells. Joining her for an afternoon of conversation and a piece of birthday cake that day were Mrs. Pat Hammerland, Mary Morgan, Gertrude Moore and JoAnn Morrill. Her birthday was March 27. Celebrating a March wedding anniversary were Mr. and Mrs. Lysle Wells. Their anniversary was March, 22. Receiving the happy news of the safe arrival of a grandson April 4, was received from Holland by Marty and Florene Ross. The baby was born in Soeterburg to Clair and Glenna Hugie. He is stationed there with the US Army and Glenna had joined him there. The baby was born on Florenes birthday and was a most happy occasion. Sharing grandparent honors are Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Hugie of Hyrum and a great grandfather B.Y. Westmoreland of Tremonton. Sharon Miller is getting along well after undergoing surgery in the Brigham hospital on Monday. Corinne camp Daughters of Utah Pioneers held their April Mayfield. of Mrs. Alta Simonsen Salmon, Idaho is spending several days with relatives here. She is the house guest of Mr. her daugher and and Mrs. Devon (Armise) Gilbert. Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Dickensen of Lewison, Idaho were recent visitors here. They visited briefly with Mr. and Mrs. Leo Gilbert and other friends here. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Rader returned recently from a most relaxing vacation trip to California. The couple traveled to the home of their son and daughter-in-laBill and Rhea Rader in Concord. They reported as having a wonderful" time with them. Bill took a week's vacation, the children, Debbie, Janelle, Jeff, Chris and Dennise were out of school for the Easter vacation. son-in-la- w Full Agenda Each member of the family had an excursion to nearby points planned for their grandparents. Santa Cruz and the meeting at the home of Gwen Rader. It was held on April 3 at 7:30 p.m. and featured an in- teresting lesson. Woolen and Mills in early pioneer days was the text of the lesson given by Alice Davis. Cotton gins were . also discussed. Refreshments were served to seven members of the hostess Gwen Rader. The Mutual Married group of the Corinne Second LDS ward held a social evening Friday, March 31, in the ward cultural hall. A square dance with Louis Damon of Brigham as caller provided a happy evening of entertainment for the group. A delcious dinner of chicken, fried scones and honey was served by the committee in charge to 16 couples. Head Committee Heading the committee for the evenings entertainment were Delwin and Marjorie Mills. They were assisted by Dawn and Lucy Reeder, Ernest and Roseann Kunzler, Bob and Karen Smoot, Rulan and Donna Smoot Harold end Terry Fillmore, Kent and Dianna Jeppesen and Lloyde and Donna Hubbard. Gwen Rader and Pauline ODell attended a board meeting of the Box Elder County North Daughters of Utah Pioneers on Wednesday April 5. The meeting was held at the home of Effie Peterson in East Garland. She is president of the county encampment. Leo and Jennie Gilbert were pleasantly surprised last week with a visit from their son and Phil and daughter-in-laVirginia Gilbert of ElSegundo, Calif. They telephoned from the Salt Lake airport for the Gilberts to pick them up. They had flown here to spend a brief time here with his parents. The visitors spent four days here with them before returning to the airport and continuing their vacation. The Phil Gilberts flew from Salt Lake City to spend several days at Parker Dam and Lake Havasu in Arizona. They met friends there to finish the Easter vacation before returning home. Fruitvale camp Daughters of Utah Pioneers met at the home of Alice Norman, Monday, April 10, at 2 p.m. The lesson Early pioneer woolen mills and cotton gins, was given by Lena Walker. The grandfather of Grover Harper, Thomas Harpers history was read by Diane Harper. Refreshments were served by Olive Fillmore and Pauline ODell. There were 11 members present. Dana Hardy daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dee Hardy was baptized and confirmed by her father in sacrament meeting in the Corinne ward on fast Sunday. Michiel, was the name given the small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Norton on that Sunday. She was blessed and named by her father. Returned missionaries from this area attended reunions during the LDS conference last week. Attending the reunion for LDS missionaries who served in Hawaii were, Bishop and Mrs. Robert Smoot, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Smoot and Mr. and Mrs. Rulan Smoot. The affair was held in an LDS ward and featured a Hawaiian luau. The Hawaiian club from the Brigham Young university the in Provo furnished program. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Smoot attended the Brazilian LDS. returned missionary meet in Salt Lake City the same week. An Easter gathering of the grandchildren of Mrs. Ada Reeder and the late A.M. Reeder took place in Bountiful on Easter Sunday. Games, motor bike riding potluck lunch and egg rolling kept children busy throughout the day. They renewed acquaintances with cousins and spent a most happy holiday. Parents spent the day relaxing and reminiscing with family members. Lee and Evelyn Williams have moved to Green Bay, Wis. They sold their home here and have gone there where Williams has been employed for the past several weeks. Accompanying the Williamses on their trip east Dr. and Mrs. Malcolm E. McDonald have returned from the Western Regional conference of the National Audubon Society which was conducted at Asilomar, Calif, recently. Golden Opportunities in Conservation was the theme considered by the representatives from 11 western states in speeches, rap sessions, films and on field trips on the Pacific ocean. Dr. Elvis Stahr, president, Charles H. Callison, executive and Dr. Roland of C. Clement, biology of the National Society, were the major speakers. Dr. McDonald is president and Mrs. McDonald is the newsletter editor for the Utah t, Audubon Society. Welcomes Newcomers The community welcomes the newcomers and hope they will with become acquainted residents and become part of the life here. Visitors here last Tuesday were Mr. and Mrs. Curt (Kate) Papenfuss of St. Ignatius, Mont. They traveled here from Logan to spend some time with Mr. and Mrs. James Moore. They had spent the Easter holiday with a son and daughter-in-laMr. and Mrs. Joe Papenfuss and children in Logan. Joining the family group at the Moore home for a happy time of reminiscing were Clayton and JoAnn Morrill. The visitors enjoyed lunch with the Moores before driving to Willard. They had attended a special awards ceremony at Ricks college. Their granddaughter Kathy Cook, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bob (Carma) Cook, of Oregon received the Women of the Year award at ceremonies there on March 30.
