Those from Mantua attending this event were Cliff and Mary Allred, Stewart and Janet Loretta and Ralph and Marie Valentine, Frank and Betty Houser and Lynn and Deon Richards. Mantua Pack, Troop and Post 111 received an award for 100 percent Boy's Life. Each boy in the cub scout and scout program have the Boy's Life in their home. The Cub scouts received the National Summertime Pack award for their activities they had during the summer and also they received a commendation for pack advancements during the past year. Our sympathy is extended to Thomas and Karen Hansen on the death of their two-da- y old son David Dean. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning in the Mantua LDS ward chapel. Randy Hall and Jeff Bigler spent the weekend at home visiting with their parents, Mrs. Diane Hall and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Bigler. Attend Wedding Harvey and Barbara Facer attended a wedding reception in Ogden Friday evening for a relative, Linda Gardner and her new husband Kent Hill. On their way to Ogden they stopped in Willard and took Harveys mother Ila Facer with them. Last week Lynn and Deon Richards joined Henry and Alice Norman, Royal and Elaine Norman, Sidney and Merlene Norman, Karl and Nelda Norman, Milton and Ann Norman and Newell and Linda Norman going to the Utah Noodle in Ogden to supper and to celebrate the birthday of Alice Norman. Marie Valentine has been put in as the second counselor in the Mantua ward glass that's easy te deaa. Primary presidency. Released from this position was Ranae Hansen. Visiting with Millie Jensen last week were Hugh and Irna Walker and their three children from Orem. They visited the went and to afternoon $acrament meeting with Millie before returning home. Hugh and Millies son Gerald were buddies in the Army while stationed in Germany. Millie says it was a thrill to have them come and visit. Richard and Susan Jeppsen and their' son Brandon are visiting from McCord Air Force base in Tacoma, Wash. Susan and Brandon will be returning home Sunday and Richard will stay for TDY at Hill Air Force base in Ogden. Sunday afternoon Cliff and Mary Allred and their children Dennis, Michael, Dianne and Mary Jo rode over to the Hardware ranch to see the elk. On their way home they stopped in Providence to visit with some former Mantua residents Jerry and Marylee Fiagle. The Fiagle's are the proud parents of a new little daughter born Jan. 25. She weighed more than eight pounds at birth and will be called Jennifer Ann. The Fiagles other children are Chris, Stephanie and Peter. Herm and Dorothy Jeppsen and Norm and Arvella Jeppsen went to Salt Lake City last Tuesday to attend the funeral of an aunt Mrs. Sarah Jensen. Cub Meeting The Cub Scout pack meeting was held last Thursday evening at the ward cultural hall. Deanna Rices den presented a clever skit using the theme for January Feats of Skill. Each Cub was given a genius kit that they are to create table decorations with only the supplies in this kit. These table decorations will be used for the ward Scouting Recognition dinner that will take place during February. Visiting Saturday at the home of Harvey and Barbara Facer were Jackie and Kelly Landon and their children Michael, Erik, Darrin and Gaylen and a neighbor of theirs Scott from Bountiful. Also visiting around the fire and drinking hot chocolate. Clyde and Faye Nichols and their son Gary from Sandy were visitors Saturday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Richards. After Clyde and Faye had visited her parents in Willard they joined Lynn and Deon and Dean and Lola Richards and went out for by Mrs. J. 6. Saturday evening the family went out to dinner and enjoyed visiting. Later Bruce, Jarry and Marilyn went down to Tijuana, Mexico to have a look around. Bruce returned home Monday and his wife Kitty and their children met him at the Salt Lake International airport. They all went out for dinner and then went up to the new Snowbird ski resort before returing home. Basic Training Michael Jeppsen and Bobbie Nelson left Wednesday morning for National Guard basic training at Fort Polk, La. They will be stationed there for two months and then will go to Fort Sill, Okla. for two months. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Hailing enjoyed a visit from their son Richard who lives in Great Falls, Mont. Richard was here to be married to Raefel Jacobsen of Salt Lake City. Thursday night a wedding rehearsal was held in Salt Lake. Following the rehearsal a wedding dinner was held for the wedding party and the bride and grooms families at the Doll House restaurant. Lynn and Fayes children that were there were Deanne, Lynette, Susan from and Dick Jeppsen Tacoma, Wash., Dick and Aiaine Nelson from Layton and Carolyn and Stephan Fillmore from Hyrum. Friday evening the marriage was held in the Methodist church in Salt Lake City. Following the marriage, a reception was held at the Four Seasons West. Relatives attending the wedding and reception from here were Howard and Ranae Hansen and daughter Denise, Cliff and Rita Hansen, Doyle and Carol Hansen, Lee and Doris Nelson, Louella Jeppsen, Elzada Young from Perry, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hailing, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Hailing and Mrs. Leslie Humpage all from Brigham City. Other friends from Mantua attending were Dorothy Jeppsen, Bryce and Betty Jeppsen and Orion and Ruth Nelson. Marvin Powell, deputy manager of the Utah Safety council, will instruct this class and urges any person who has to take the drivers test to attend and get this information. The class begins at 2:30 p.m. and is one of the services of the Utah Safety council, and is especially for relicensing. will Kimber Richard demonstrate physical fitness instruction after the luncheon on Friday, Feb. 4. This luncheon includes drink, dessert and main course. Urania Craghead is supervisor of food preparation with May Jeppsen, Veda Burt and Evelyn Nelson assisting. The meal is served at 12 noon and reservations must be made by Thursday noon to attend the luncheon. All seniors are invited to attend, whether or not they are members of the Spike club.
